Marvel Reveals New and Improved Spider-Man 2099 Spider-Verse Action Figure
Bandai has fully revealed a new Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse action figure based on Miguel O’Hara, recreating the imposing Spider-Man 2099 with updated coloring and a new interchangeable head.
The new “Spider-Man 2099 (Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse) -928 WARDEN OF THE MULTIVERSE- S.H.Figuarts” revisits Bandai’s 2023 Premium Bandai-exclusive Spider-Man 2099 figure with revised paintwork and a changed selection of accessories.
Miguel O’Hara plays a major role in Across the Spider-Verse as the leader of the Spider Society, an organization of Spider-People dedicated to protecting the stability of the multiverse.
His determination to preserve so-called Canon Events places him directly at odds with Miles Morales after Miles discovers that saving his father could potentially disrupt the structure of his universe.
Miguel becomes one of the central forces pursuing Miles during the movie’s second half, with his larger build, claws and more aggressive fighting style helping distinguish Spider-Man 2099 from many of the other Spider-People seen throughout the film.
He is set to return when Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse continues the story on June 18, 2027, with Sony confirming that Miles will once again find himself hunted by Miguel and the Spider Society.
For the updated S.H.Figuarts release, Bandai retains the approximately 18 cm articulated body of the original figure while reinterpreting the coloring of Miguel’s Spider-Man 2099 suit.
The blue sections now use a deeper and more subdued tone, while additional red paint has been applied across the sculpted lines running through the suit to create stronger contrast between its two main colors.
Bandai has also created a new interchangeable head based on Miguel’s screaming expression from the movie, replacing the alternate unmasked head included with the earlier figure.
Two pairs of interchangeable hands are included alongside a replacement neck piece, allowing Miguel’s clawed hands and different expressions to be combined across a range of action poses.
The accessory selection also includes two red web effects and Miguel’s multiverse-travel bracelet, which plays an important role throughout Across the Spider-Verse as members of the Spider Society move between dimensions.
A dedicated display stand decorated with the Spider-Man 2099 logo has been added for this release, providing additional support for aerial and combat poses.
One accessory that hasn’t returned is the translucent red cape supplied with the 2023 figure, with the new version instead focusing on Miguel’s appearance during the main events of Across the Spider-Verse.
Bandai is also revisiting another major character from the movie with the newly revealed “Miles G. Morales (Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse) -42 MILES ON THE PROWLER’S PATH- S.H.Figuarts,” which updates the Earth-42 Prowler with reinterpreted coloring and a new interchangeable head.
Elsewhere in its wider Marvel S.H.Figuarts lineup, Bandai has just revealed the “Venom (GAMERVERSE) S.H.Figuarts,” recreating Eddie Brock’s hulking symbiote with interchangeable heads, large tendril effects and transformation parts.
Pre-orders for the “Spider-Man 2099 (Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse) -928 WARDEN OF THE MULTIVERSE- S.H.Figuarts”, priced at ¥9,900 (approximately $63 / £47), are set to open through reputable hobby goods retailers such as HobbyLink Japan from October 1 ahead of its release in May 2027.
The new price also makes this version ¥3,300 cheaper than the original Premium Bandai-exclusive Spider-Man 2099 S.H.Figuarts, which was priced at ¥13,200.
