Magin: The Rat Project Stories Set for April 29 Launch

Publisher Daedalic Entertainment and developer The Rat Project have announced that the side-scrolling adventure deckbuilder Magin: The Rat Project Stories will launch on April 29, 2026.

The game is scheduled to release for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam at a base price of $19.99.

Pre-orders for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series versions are currently available, while Nintendo Switch owners can begin placing pre-orders on April 1, 2026.

A premium Essence Edition will also be offered for $29.99, featuring a digital comic book, additional card video effects, a digital art book, the original soundtrack, and exclusive story content regarding the usage of Essence.

The narrative is set in a dark fantasy world where a magical force known as essence is intrinsically linked to the fears and desires of the population.

Players will control two primary characters, a veteran syndicate hitman named Elester and a young man named Tolen, as they navigate a world on the brink of an industrial revolution.

The gameplay combines atmospheric exploration and environmental investigation with a deep card-based combat system.

A unique Essence Mechanic allows players to manage their emotional state to influence both combat outcomes and the progression of the branching storyline.

As the journey unfolds, players can upgrade their decks by obtaining special cards from defeated enemies or by making specific narrative choices.

The title features a distinct aesthetic that blends medieval culture with industrial machines powered by magic.
