Magical Girl Raising Project Restart Returns in New Anime Trailer

The Magical Girl Raising Project franchise is set to return with a new anime series titled Magical Girl Raising Project Restart, which is scheduled to premiere in fall 2026.

This upcoming broadcast marks a significant milestone for the series as it arrives exactly one decade after the original anime first aired in fall 2016.

A second trailer for the project was recently released, providing fans with a preview of the opening theme song “No tears here” performed by Minori Chihara.

Director Hiroyuki Hashimoto, who previously served as an assistant director on Tougen Anki, will lead the production at studio SynergySP.

The creative team also includes Takao Yoshioka as the series compositor and Masako Ito as the character designer.

Both Hashimoto and Yoshioka previously worked on the first season of the anime when it was produced at studio Lerche, while Ito contributed to the original series as an SD character designer.

The premise of the franchise centers on a popular social game that offers players a 1 in 10,000 chance of becoming a real-life Magical Girl with unique supernatural abilities.

The narrative takes a dark turn when the administrator fairy, Fav, decides to reduce the Magical Girl population by half, forcing sixteen girls into a lethal battle for survival.

Fans looking to catch up on the story can currently stream the original 2016 series on Crunchyroll ahead of the new season’s launch in 2026.
