Lacus Clyne Officially Returns to Gundam Girls Generation with New SEED FREEDOM Statue

The “GGG Lacus Clyne Jinbaori Ver.” joins MegaHouse’s Gundam Girls Generation series, depicting Lacus in an elaborate outfit inspired by a jinbaori, a traditional Japanese sleeveless overcoat historically worn over samurai armor.

Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM was released in 2024 as the theatrical continuation of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED and Gundam SEED Destiny, reuniting Kira Yamato, Lacus Clyne, and their allies during a new conflict in the Cosmic Era timeline.

Originally introduced as a popular singer and peace advocate, Lacus became a central figure in the struggle to end the wars between the Earth Alliance and PLANT, eventually helping establish an independent faction alongside Kira.

By the events of Gundam SEED FREEDOM, she serves as president of COMPASS, an international peacekeeping organization formed to respond to military conflicts around the world.

The new statue shows Lacus extending one hand forward with a gentle expression, capturing her appearance from the movie.

Her long pink hair and the layered sections of her outfit spread outward to create the impression of floating through space, giving the sculpt a sense of movement despite its otherwise relaxed pose.

MegaHouse has also paid particular attention to the decorative ornaments, fabric folds, and intricate detailing of the costume, with carefully applied colors and shading adding depth to the finished design.

Standing approximately 22.5 cm tall, the statue comes with a display base, with sculpting handled by Ahiru Taichou and paintwork by namoji.

MegaHouse has also recently expanded its Gundam Girls Generation lineup with the “GGG Cagalli Yula Athha Pilot Suit Ver.,” which depicts Cagalli during a personal moment from Gundam SEED FREEDOM’s expanded epilogue.

That statue captures Cagalli holding the ring given to her by Athrun Zala, with her partially removed pilot suit and thoughtful expression reflecting the quieter tone of the scene.

Lacus also features in Bandai’s upcoming “MGEX 1/100 Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam,” which includes several miniature figures based on her appearance in the movie.

Pre-orders for the “GGG Lacus Clyne Jinbaori Ver.,” priced at ¥24,200 (approximately $153 USD / £115 GBP), are now open through reputable hobby goods retailers, ahead of its scheduled release in late March 2027.
