Kura Sushi announces new collab with Sanrio’s Cinnamoroll

Kura Sushi has officially announced a new collaboration campaign featuring Sanrio’s popular character, Cinnamoroll.
This partnership brings the beloved mascot to the revolving sushi chain nationwide starting in early January 2026.

Cinnamoroll is a white puppy character born on a cloud far up in the sky, best known for his tail that curls like a cinnamon roll.
As a five-time winner of the Sanrio Character Ranking, he remains one of the most beloved mascots in the company’s extensive lineup.

This collaboration is part of a significant wave of Sanrio partnerships taking place at the start of the new year.

While that collaboration focuses on collector items like acrylic stands, this campaign brings the cute mascot directly into the dining experience.
A highlight of the campaign is the integration with Kura Sushi’s signature “BiKKURA PON!” game.

Diners play the game by depositing five empty plates into the disposal slot at their table, triggering an animation on the ordering screen.

Winning capsules will contain exclusive prizes, such as “Figure Straps” featuring Cinnamoroll and friends wearing sushi-themed pajamas.

Other potential prizes include heart-shaped can badges and masking tape rolls featuring various character expressions.
The chain will also offer guaranteed gifts for customers who spend over 2,500 yen (tax included).
The first round of gifts features clear files, while the second round offers cushion charms, both limited to the first 300,000 customers.

Special menu items have been developed to reflect the character’s fluffy and sky-themed origins.
“Cinnamoroll’s Fluffy Sky Udon” features toppings that resemble clouds, while “Cinnamoroll’s Flying Apple Soda” offers a refreshing fruit flavor.

This announcement also adds to the growing list of food and beverage collaborations with major IP in early 2026.
McDonald’s Japan recently revealed its second “Dragon Quest Burgers” campaign, which also utilizes themed packaging and character imagery in a bid to drive sales.

With the traditional Japanese holiday of Setsubun approaching, Kura Sushi is also accepting pre-orders for themed “Ehomaki” sushi rolls.

The “Cinnamoroll Ehomaki 3-Roll Set” comes wrapped in special film and includes an original sticker sheet.
