Kotobukiya’s Hatsune Miku BISHOUJO ReMIX Scale Figure Gets Shock Re-Release After 7 Year Wait

Hatsune Miku is officially making a return to the spotlight courtesy of figure manufacturer Kotobukiya.
The company is launching a fresh production run of its highly sought after “Hatsune Miku BISHOUJO ReMIX” scale figure, giving collectors another opportunity to secure a piece that has been incredibly tough to find on the aftermarket.

Originally hitting retail shelves back in October 2020, this specific statue quickly became a coveted centerpiece for fans, many of whom have spent the last few years patiently waiting for a restock instead of paying inflated reseller prices.

This dynamic design drops the virtual singer straight onto a concert stage, captured mid-performance as she strums a stylized electric guitar.

The entire look is based on a completely original illustration by legendary designer Shunya Yamashita, who reimagined the virtual icon through his distinct artistic lens.

Her signature twin-tails are a major highlight of the sculpt, utilizing translucent clear plastic parts to give the hair a beautiful, light-catching quality that shifts depending on how it is displayed.

Adding to the visual texture, the flowing hair features subtle streaks of hot pink mixed seamlessly into her classic teal color scheme.

Yamashita’s custom costume design is packed with intricate details, featuring an abundance of sculpted frills along the skirt that contrast nicely with the sharp lines of her performance gear.

The sculptors also put a lot of work into the realistic sense of movement throughout the outfit, accurately capturing the way her jacket flares out during an energetic live set.

This pre-painted 1/7 scale figure stands at an impressive total height of approximately 24.7 cm, which includes the hexagonal base it arrives on.

The “Hatsune Miku BISHOUJO ReMIX Series” statue is priced at 19,250 yen (approx. $122 USD / £96 GBP), and pre-orders are now available via the official Kotobukiya online store and reputable hobby goods retailers such as HobbyLink Japan.

The highly anticipated re-release is currently scheduled to begin shipping in January 2027.
