Konami Announces New Yu-Gi-Oh! Evil★Twin Anime Series for 2027
Konami has officially announced that one of the upcoming entries in its Yu-Gi-Oh! CARD GAME THE CHRONICLES anime short series will be a three-episode arc based on the popular Yu-Gi-Oh! card game archetype “Evil★Twin”.
The new arc will begin streaming in January 2027, with a newly released visual showing Live☆Twin Ki-sikil and Live☆Twin Lil-la posing together against a nighttime city backdrop.
Evil★Twin revolves around Ki-sikil and Lil-la, a duo who present themselves online through their colorful Live☆Twin streamer personas while also operating as the more dangerous Evil★Twin pair.
The theme originally made its Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG debut through 2020’s Genesis Impact set, with the archetype built around repeatedly bringing Ki-sikil and Lil-la together before using them to Link Summon their Evil★Twin counterparts.
This will not be the first time the pair have appeared in official animation, as “Live☆Twin is Evil★Twin?” was one of the segments created for the Yu-Gi-Oh! card game’s 25th anniversary special video in February 2024.
That earlier short offered a brief animated look at the characters and their contrasting identities, but the newly announced project will expand Evil★Twin into a dedicated three-part story for the ongoing Chronicles series.
Yu-Gi-Oh! CARD GAME THE CHRONICLES launched as a regular YouTube series in April 2025, adapting stories and settings that had previously existed primarily through card artwork and background lore.
Sky Striker Ace opened the series with two episodes focused on Raye and Roze, followed by The Fallen & The Virtuous, Spirit Charmers and a four-part Magistus story.
The current arc, Seeker of Sinful Spoils, began in August 2026 and will continue through December, placing Diabellstar at the center of the story before Evil★Twin takes over the following month.
The announcement is already being accompanied by new card game merchandise, with the key visual from the anime being used for an official “THE CHRONICLES Evil★Twin” Duelist Card Protector set.
The pack contains 100 sleeves and will be released through participating Yu-Gi-Oh! Official Tournament Stores in Japan on January 23, 2027 for ¥990 (approx. $6 USD / £5 GBP).
The three-part Evil★Twin story will begin streaming for free through the official Yu-Gi-Oh! OCG YouTube channel from January 2027, with exact episode dates expected to be announced closer to release.
