Kasane Teto’s Love of Baguettes Inspires New Bakery-Themed Noodle Stopper Figure
FuRyu has revealed a new bakery-themed Noodle Stopper figure of virtual singer Kasane Teto, with the design inspired by her long-running love of baguettes.
Teto originally began life in 2008 as an April Fools’ joke created by users of Japanese message board 2channel, where she was presented as a fictional new VOCALOID before later becoming a genuine virtual singer through the UTAU singing synthesis software.
Her popularity surged again with the release of “Synthesizer V AI Kasane Teto” in 2023, which introduced a new version of her voice and helped bring Teto to a much wider audience of producers and virtual singer fans.
One thing that has stayed with Teto throughout that history is her love of French bread, with baguettes officially listed among her favorite foods and becoming a long-running part of the way fans and official merchandise reference her.
That connection has already inspired some especially playful merchandise, including a recent Taito prize plush that dresses Teto herself in an oversized baguette costume.
FuRyu’s new “Kasane Teto Noodle Stopper Figure” takes the joke in a different direction, using an original bakery-themed illustration by Nemari as the basis for the design.
Teto swaps her usual outfit for a bakery uniform complete with an apron and beret while tightly holding a large baguette against her chest, with an expression that makes it look as though somebody nearby is about to steal it and she has no intention of letting that happen.
The pose fits naturally into FuRyu’s Noodle Stopper range, which is designed so figures can sit on top of instant noodle cups to keep their lids closed while they cook, although collectors also regularly display them on the edges of desks, cabinets and shelves.
This isn’t Teto’s first Noodle Stopper figure either, with FuRyu releasing another Nemari-designed version during summer 2026 that dressed her in a playful king-themed outfit and gave her a much more mischievous pose.
The bakery version feels more closely tied to Teto herself, taking one of the jokes that has followed her since her early UTAU years and making it the entire focus of the figure rather than simply adding a baguette as a small accessory.
Teto has also been getting far more attention from figure manufacturers throughout 2026, including a new Nendoroid based on her appearance in the “Mesmerizer” music video, another Nendoroid recreating her VOICEPEAK design and an upcoming POP UP PARADE L Size figure based on her Synthesizer V AI appearance.
That growing figure lineup reflects how much Teto’s profile has expanded in recent years, with her newer voice software appearances sitting alongside the older jokes and character traits that fans have associated with her since 2008.
FuRyu’s new “Kasane Teto Noodle Stopper Figure” is currently expected to begin appearing in Japanese arcades from around March 2027.
A wider retail release has not yet been announced, although FuRyu’s Noodle Stopper figures commonly become available through hobby goods retailers and anime specialty stores internationally around one to two months after their initial Japanese arcade debut, making a global release likely to follow.
