Japan’s Pokémon Cafe expands its “Mega Evolution” menu with new Mega Altaria Cheesecake

The official Pokémon Cafe in Japan has announced a new menu update, continuing its current theme based on the “Mega Evolution” gameplay mechanic.
The Pokémon Cafes, which have locations in Tokyo and Osaka, are reservation-only restaurants that serve a high-quality, rotating menu of dishes and drinks inspired by the popular franchise.

The highlight of this new menu update is a brand-new dessert.
The “Mega Altaria’s Fluffy Rare Cheesecake” is a dish designed to look like the Dragon- and Fairy-type Humming Pokémon, Mega Altaria.

It features a smooth rare cheesecake base topped with crunchy pie crust and a fluffy cheese cream.
This new dessert joins a continuing menu item, the “Mega Charizard’s Flamethrower Curry Plate.”

This dish comes with a special card that, when scanned with a smartphone, activates an augmented reality experience of Charizard Mega Evolving.

In addition to the new food, other parts of the menu are also being updated.
The “Selectable Pokémon Latte,” which allows customers to choose a piece of character art for their drink, will have its options expanded with a new lineup of eight different Mega Evolved Pokémon.

The free, random coasters that are given out with each drink order will also be switched to a new, “second series” of eight Mega Evolution-themed designs.

A special promotional campaign will also be running.
Customers who order one food item and one dessert item as a set will receive a special “two-layer sticker” as a gift.

The top layer of this sticker shows a Pokémon, and when it is peeled away, it reveals an image of that Pokémon’s Mega Evolved form underneath.
To make way for these new items, the “Mega Ampharos’s Sparkling Caramel Cream Cake” and the first series of Mega Evolution coasters will be discontinued after the 5th of September, 2025.

The new menu items are scheduled to become available at the Pokémon Cafes in Tokyo and Osaka on Saturday, the 6th of September, 2025.
