Sanrio’s 2026 lucky bags include an exclusive Zodiac-themed plush

Pre-orders are set to open for the highly anticipated 2026 edition of Sanrio’s annual Lucky Bag.

The “Fukubukuro” (lucky bag) is a beloved Japanese New Year’s tradition, and Sanrio’s version is extremely popular for offering a bundle of exclusive merchandise at a set price.

This year’s collection features seven of the brand’s most iconic characters: Hello Kitty, My Melody, Little Twin Stars, Pompompurin, Cinnamoroll, Kuromi, and Pochacco.

Each bag is packed with exclusive items designed specifically for the coming year.

The highlight of the set is a “Zodiac Plush” featuring the specific character holding a plush Horse (the zodiac animal for 2026) with the year embroidered on it.

The set also includes a large zippered tote bag, a mascot holder, a fluffy “boa” drawstring bag, cozy room socks, and a bath towel with a matching design.

On top of these fixed items, each bag will contain a mystery assortment of other random Sanrio goods.

Sanrio’s “2026 Lucky Bag” is priced at 4,990 yen (approx. $32.44 USD / £25.45 GBP).

Reservations at physical Sanrio Shops in Japan are scheduled to run from Monday, December 1, until December 14, with product pickup starting on December 26.

Online pre-orders will begin on December 1 at 10:00 AM (JST) via the Sanrio Online Shop, with shipping also scheduled to start from December 26.

Due to high demand, sales are limited to one bag per character per person.
