hololive and Critical Role Announce First-Ever Collaboration for New Fantasy RPG Adventure
Image by Charlotte DavisVTuber agency hololive has officially announced its first-ever collaboration with American tabletop gaming group Critical Role, bringing four of its English-speaking talents into a new fantasy role-playing series.
Titled “Shattered Legends”, the upcoming online series will follow a new adventure using the tabletop RPG Daggerheart, with a storyline that will officially become part of Critical Role’s established fantasy universe of Exandria.
Operated by COVER Corporation, hololive production is one of Japan’s largest VTuber agencies, featuring virtual entertainers who produce gaming streams, music, live performances, and other content for audiences around the world.
Critical Role originally began as a group of professional voice actors playing tabletop role-playing games together, eventually growing into a major entertainment franchise that includes books, comics, games and the popular animated series The Legend of Vox Machina on Amazon Prime Video.
hololive has also expanded its gaming activities through projects including the upcoming mobile rhythm game “hololive Dreams” and a recent Mega Man collaboration with Capcom featuring its hololive GAMERS unit.
For this new partnership, Critical Role’s Matthew Mercer will serve as Game Master, guiding five players through a new story shaped by their decisions, interactions, and the roll of the dice.
The confirmed cast and their roles in “Shattered Legends” are as follows.

Daggerheart is a collaborative fantasy tabletop RPG developed by Critical Role’s publishing division, Darrington Press, with gameplay built around a system of Hope and Fear that influences how the story unfolds.
The game also uses illustrated cards to represent different aspects of each player’s background and abilities, allowing the group to create their own characters and develop their adventure together.
The main campaign will be presented as a series of online episodes through Critical Role’s official YouTube channel, Nerissa Ravencroft’s channel, hololive English’s YouTube channel, and Critical Role’s streaming platform Beacon.
All episodes released on YouTube will include Japanese subtitles, allowing viewers in Japan to follow the English-language campaign.
Additional content will include an Episode 0 covering the cast’s character creation and backstories, alongside behind-the-scenes discussions following each episode, available through Beacon and Nerissa Ravencroft’s YouTube channel memberships.
“Shattered Legends” is scheduled to begin in mid-November 2026, with Ultra PRO sponsoring the series and further promotional appearances planned at conventions across North America, Europe, and Asia.
Exclusive merchandise and additional collaboration announcements are also planned, with further details to be revealed at a later date.
