Hit Rakugo Anime Akane-banashi Announces New Exhibition with Exclusive Merchandise

A special exhibition dedicated to the television anime adaptation of Akane-banashi is scheduled to open at HMV museum Shibuya, welcoming visitors from July 11 through August 9, 2026.
The event will celebrate the acclaimed series inspired by the popular manga created by Yuuki Suenaga and illustrated by Takamasa Bajō.

Akane-banashi follows a story rooted in the traditional Japanese performing art of rakugo and has attracted a large following through both its manga and anime adaptations.

Visitors to the exhibition will be able to explore displays highlighting memorable moments from the story alongside presentations focusing on its cast of characters.

The venue will also feature special attractions and exhibition content created specifically for this event, offering experiences unavailable elsewhere.
A selection of merchandise showcasing newly commissioned illustrations created for the exhibition will be available for attendees.

Each admission ticket will include one complimentary original bookmark selected at random from a collection of five different designs.

The bookmark giveaway will be distributed as an admission gift while supplies remain available throughout the exhibition period.
