Hello Kitty Stars in Sanrio’s Affordable New Designer Fashion Accessory Collection

Hello Kitty has teamed up with French fashion brand PAUL & JOE for a new accessories collaboration that gives the iconic Sanrio character an elegant and playful makeover.
The “PAUL & JOE ACCESSOIRES × Hello Kitty” collection brings Kitty together with the brand’s beloved cats, Gypsy and Nounette, across two coordinated ranges featuring everything from handkerchiefs and cosmetic pouches to handbags, wallets and plush charms.

Hello Kitty first appeared in 1974 and has since become one of Sanrio’s most internationally recognized characters, appearing in countless fashion collaborations with brands around the world.

PAUL & JOE was founded by French designer Sophie Mechaly in 1995, with its accessories range known for feminine designs, floral patterns and the recurring appearances of its feline mascots.

The new collaboration combines these familiar elements through artwork showing Hello Kitty alongside Gypsy and Nounette, with PAUL & JOE’s signature Chrysanthème flower motif also appearing as clouds in a whimsical, dreamlike setting.

Two separate product ranges have been announced, with one focusing on handkerchiefs and soft accessories and the other introducing a wider selection of bags and wallets.
Let’s take a closer look at everything included in the new collection!
The first range, produced by Blooming Nakanishi, features eight different products with matching designs inspired by Hello Kitty and PAUL & JOE’s cats:
- “Printed Handkerchief” – ¥2,970 each (approximately $19/£14)

Three designs show Hello Kitty alongside Gypsy and Nounette beneath clouds inspired by PAUL & JOE’s floral motif, with each handkerchief measuring approximately 50 × 50 cm.

- “Towel Handkerchief” – ¥1,430 each (approximately $9/£7)

Available in three colors, the soft 25 × 25 cm towels feature printed character appliqués and are designed for everyday use.

- “Microfiber Handkerchief” – ¥1,650 each (approximately $10/£8)

The 25 × 25 cm microfiber cloths come in three colors with different artwork printed on each side, making them suitable for cleaning smartphone screens and glasses.

- “Drawstring Pouch” – ¥3,520 (approximately $22/£17)

A small quilted pouch with padded fabric and a rounded shape, measuring approximately 17 × 20 cm for carrying everyday accessories.

- “Pouch” – ¥4,400 (approximately $28/£21)

The matching padded pouch measures approximately 9.5 × 15 × 8 cm and offers a more structured option for organizing smaller belongings.
- “Vanity Pouch” – ¥5,280 (approximately $33/£25)

Designed for cosmetics and makeup accessories, the vanity-style pouch measures approximately 14 × 20 × 6 cm and includes an interior pocket for smaller items.

- “Eco Bag” – ¥5,500 (approximately $35/£26)

A reusable bag covered in pajama-inspired stripes, with an integrated tie that allows the 25 × 22 × 12 cm design to be folded and carried more compactly.

- “Plush Charm” – ¥3,960 each (approximately $25/£19)

Two versions recreate Hello Kitty relaxing in outfits decorated with PAUL & JOE’s Chrysanthème motif, complete with matching bows and removable circular carabiners for attaching them to bags.

A second range produced by Sun Art expands the collaboration into larger accessories and everyday essentials, with seven additional products featuring the same trio of characters:
- “Pass and Coin Case” – ¥4,070 (approximately $26/£19)

A compact case designed to keep transit passes and loose change together, decorated with artwork from the collaboration.

- “Pouch” – ¥4,180 (approximately $26/£20)

A separate everyday accessory pouch featuring Hello Kitty alongside PAUL & JOE’s cat illustrations.

- “Multi-Pouch” – ¥5,060 (approximately $32/£24)

A larger multipurpose pouch designed for organizing personal belongings and smaller accessories.

- “Lunch Tote” – ¥5,830 (approximately $37/£28)

A compact tote bag suited to carrying lunch and other small essentials, with matching character artwork.

- “Tote Bag” – ¥9,350 (approximately $59/£45)

The larger bag in the Sun Art range uses Hello Kitty and PAUL & JOE’s feline designs across a practical everyday tote.

- “Round Zip Long Wallet” – ¥15,750 each (approximately $99/£75)

A full-length wallet offered in two color variations, combining the collaboration’s artwork with a zip-around design.

- “Clasp Mini Wallet” – ¥14,080 each (approximately $89/£67)

Two color options offer a smaller alternative to the long wallet, with a traditional metal clasp closure.

Hello Kitty has already appeared in several other fashion collaborations during 2026, including a second luxury collection with MCM featuring branded handbags, wallets, backpacks and ready-to-wear clothing.

She also teamed up with Converse earlier this year for a PLAZA-exclusive collection that combined retro-inspired apparel with practical accessories, including tote bags, pouches and reusable shopping bags.

Both “PAUL & JOE ACCESSOIRES × Hello Kitty” product ranges are scheduled to launch in Japan on October 14, 2026, although the participating stores and online retailers differ between the two collections.
Blooming Nakanishi’s handkerchiefs, pouches, eco bag and plush charms will be available through the Handkerchief Gallery online store and selected department store handkerchief counters across Japan, with additional releases planned through participating Sanrio stores and Sanrio’s official online shop.
The Sun Art collection will be sold separately through bag specialty stores across Japan and the official Sun Art Rakuten store.
