Halo: Combat Evolved Reveals Story Trailer

Halo Studios and Xbox Game Studios have announced Halo: Campaign Evolved, a full remake of the original 2001 classic built in Unreal Engine 5.

The game is scheduled for global release on July 28, 2026, for Xbox Series X/S, PC, and PlayStation 5.

A new cinematic story trailer released on June 8, 2026, showcased footage captured on a PlayStation 5 Pro, highlighting the cross-platform nature of the upcoming title.

This remake includes the full original campaign along with Operation Meteorite, a new three-mission prequel arc featuring the Master Chief and Sgt Johnson.

Players can expect overhauled visuals, refined controls, and re-recorded voice acting and music to modernize the experience for a new generation.

The gameplay has been expanded to include nine additional weapons from across the franchise, the ability to drive the Wraith, and a new vehicle hijacking mechanic.

Cooperative play has been upgraded to support up to four players online with full crossplay and shared progression, while consoles retain two-player split-screen.

Pre-orders are currently open, and those who purchase the Premium or Collector’s Edition will gain early access starting on July 23, 2026.

The Collector’s Edition features a 12-inch Master Chief statue, a light-up Cortana chip, and a physical game disc for console users.

Halo: Campaign Evolved will also be available on the day of launch for members of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
