Gundam Zeta's Mk-III gets exclusive new clear color model kit

The GUNDAM BASE is set to release a special see-through Gunpla kit of the Gundam Mk-III.

Visitors to these stores will soon be able to pick up the “HG 1/144 Gundam Mk-III [Clear Color]” Gunpla kit.

This is the latest in a long-running pattern of releases that has seen new color variants of popular kits exclusively sold at GUNDAM BASE stores.

The Gundam Mk-III itself is a lesser-known mobile suit from the “Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam” design series, “Z-MSV” (Zeta Mobile Suit Variations).

It was developed by Anaheim Electronics after the Anti-Earth Union Group (AEUG) successfully captured the RX-178 Gundam Mk-II from the Titans faction.

The Mk-III was intended to be the next-generation successor to the Mk-II, aiming to refine the design and eliminate its structural weaknesses.

This specific release is a “Clear Color” version, a popular variant for limited-edition Gunpla that allows the inner mechanical details to be seen through transparent plastic.

The kit is molded in two different shades of clear plastic, featuring a distinctive clear blue and red to replicate the mobile suit’s body color.

This choice of color allows the intricate internal frame and parts to be visible, creating a unique and visually appealing display model.

For fans of “Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam” and its extended universe, this model kit provides a fresh take on a classic mobile suit design.

The High Grade (HG) line of Gunpla kits is known for its accessibility, affordability, and extensive lineup.

Reproducing Gundams and other mobile suits at 1/144 scale, HG kits are designed to be easy to assemble while still offering a good level of detail and articulation.

The “HG 1/144 Gundam Mk-III [Clear Color]” is scheduled to be released exclusively at Gundam Base locations starting July 26th, with a price of 2,860 yen (approx. $19.81 USD / £14.40 GBP).

Another Gunpla kit featuring similar blue colored translucent parts, the “MG 1/100 Gouf Ver.2.0 [Clear Color]”, will also soon be available from GUNDAM BASE stores.
