Gundam X's Huge New 30th Anniversary Soundtrack Collection Features 57 Tracks Over 3-Discs

After War Gundam X is getting a new three-disc soundtrack collection, bringing together a huge selection of music from the anime as part of its ongoing 30th anniversary celebrations.

The “After War Gundam X ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK COLLECTION V.A.” collects Yasuo Higuchi’s original score alongside opening and ending themes and other vocal tracks from artists including ROMANTIC MODE, Warren Wiebe, re-kiss, Wataru Takagi, Mika Kanai and Satomi Nakase.

Gundam X introduced the After War timeline, following Garrod Ran after his attempt to steal the Gundam X brings him together with Tiffa Adill and the crew of the Freeden.

The series followed Mobile Fighter G Gundam and Mobile Suit Gundam Wing as the third major alternate-universe Gundam TV anime of the 1990s, with all three now represented through matching soundtrack collections.

Across its three discs, the Gundam X release covers music from throughout the anime, ranging from familiar background pieces and battle themes to multiple versions of DREAMS, HUMAN TOUCH, Resolution and Silver Horizon.

Several character songs are also included, alongside the bonus track “tiffa,” which combines multiple pieces of Gundam X background music into a single medley.

The music is matched by new packaging created specifically for the collection, with illustrator Hideki Tenjin providing a newly drawn image of the Gundam X for the cover.

Tenjin has worked extensively across the Gundam franchise and is well known for his detailed mechanical illustrations, including box artwork created for numerous Master Grade Gunpla releases and his “Artistry of Gundam” book which was recently released in the US for the first time.

His new Gundam X illustration appears across the first-edition LP-style jacket, giving the soundtrack its own newly commissioned artwork rather than reusing imagery from the original anime.

A total of 57 songs will appear across the three discs, with the full tracklist as follows:

Away from the soundtrack itself, Gundam X’s 30th anniversary has also brought several new projects that revisit different parts of the series.

A sequel manga titled “Gundam X FLASH” was announced in August, bringing Garrod and Tiffa back for a continuation of the story three decades after the original anime.

Bandai also revealed a full-size PROPLICA recreation of the Gundam X’s G-Controller in August, turning the Mobile Suit’s familiar control device into a new display collectible.

September has since brought the full reveal of a METAL ROBOT SPIRITS Gundam Double X figure, recreating Garrod’s later Mobile Suit with metallic finishes, die-cast components, and a deployable Twin Satellite Cannon.

The new soundtrack also completes a matching trio of releases covering Gundam’s three major alternate-universe TV series from the 1990s.

Mobile Fighter G Gundam ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK COLLECTION 1

Mobile Fighter G Gundam received a five-disc “ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK COLLECTION” earlier this summer, followed by a seven-disc Mobile Suit Gundam Wing collection featuring Kow Otani’s score and music from TWO-MIX and other artists connected to the series.

Fans who purchase all three soundtrack collections from participating retailers can receive bonus collectibles featuring the newly commissioned artwork created for each release.

The bonus consists of three acrylic blocks measuring approximately 7cm x 7cm x 1cm, with each one supplied inside its own white box.

Individual retailer bonuses are also available for the Gundam X release, with A-on STORE offering a roughly 20cm square clear jacket, Amazon Japan including a Mega Jacket, Seven Net Shopping offering an acrylic coaster, and Rakuten Books including an acrylic keychain.

The “After War Gundam X ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK COLLECTION V.A.” will be released in Japan on September 16, 2026, priced at ¥6,380 (approximately $41 USD / £30 GBP).

The first production uses a three-disc LP-style jacket package, with availability of the retailer bonuses and three-album purchase bonus depending on the store and remaining stock.
