Gundam Wing’s Epyon Gets New Store Exclusive RG Gunpla Kit

Bandai Spirits has officially revealed a new Real Grade Gunpla kit of the fearsome Gundam Epyon ahead of its upcoming release.

This exclusive addition to the Real Grade line completely reimagines the iconic antagonist mobile suit from Mobile Suit Gundam Wing with a breathtaking metallic finish.

Mobile Suit Gundam Wing is a massively popular mecha anime series that originally aired in 1995.

It follows five teenage pilots who are sent to Earth in highly advanced mobile suits to wage a guerrilla war against an oppressive global military organization.

The series played a massive role in popularizing the mecha genre with Western audiences during the early 2000s.

The Gundam Epyon is a fearsome close-combat machine famously piloted by the antagonist Zechs Merquise during the climactic battles of the story.

Unlike traditional mecha in the series, it completely lacks long-range weaponry, instead relying on its overwhelming speed, an integrated shield whip, and a massive energy sword.

The Real Grade series is celebrated for taking 1/144 scale models to the next level by incorporating intricate inner frames and incredible surface details usually reserved for much larger kits.

This new Gunpla kit takes the fantastic original RG design and adds a special coating, resulting in a highly reflective and luxurious appearance that demands attention on any display shelf.

Builders can connect the massive signature beam sword directly to the mount latch using a provided flexible lead wire.

The intricate articulation gimmicks have been carefully optimized to allow the completed model to swing its energy weapon in powerful and natural poses.

To fully capture the versatility of the original design, the completed robot can fully transform into its imposing Mobile Armor mode.

The RG 1/144 Gundam Base Limited Gundam Epyon [Special Coating] kit will be sold exclusively at official Gundam Base retail locations in Japan.

Gunpla enthusiasts can look forward to securing this premium kit for a price of 11,000 yen (approx. $73 USD / £58 GBP) when it launches on Friday, March 20, 2026.
