GU to release vintage-inspired Kuromi T-shirts in latest Sanrio collab

Japanese apparel retailer GU is set to launch a new collaboration with Sanrio’s Kuromi.
GU, a subsidiary of Fast Retailing (the parent company of UNIQLO), is known for offering trendy and affordable fashion, often collaborating with popular characters and series.
Sanrio’s Kuromi, a mischievous but charming character often associated with punk and gothic aesthetics, has gained considerable popularity both in Japan and internationally, resonating with a demographic that appreciates her unique appeal.

Kuromi is also involved in multiple other collaborations at the moment, including one with popular Japan fashion retailer SPINNS.

The new GU collaboration combines their accessible fashion with Kuromi’s distinct style, introducing a line of wash-processed, vintage-inspired T-shirts featuring Kuromi designs.
The collection will consist of four distinct items: two types of ribbed mini T-shirts and two types of graphic T-shirts, each adorned with Kuromi’s image on the chest.
Let’s take a look at each of the designs that will be available in the new GU x Kuromi collection!

It’s important to note that XS, XXL, and 3XL sizes will be exclusively sold through GU’s online store, while other sizes will be available both online and in physical GU retail locations.
This release follows GU’s ongoing strategy of collaborating with popular characters and franchises to offer fresh and contemporary clothing options that appeal to a broad customer base.
The GU x Kuromi collection will be available for purchase starting June 27th through the GU online store and at physical GU stores across Japan.
