Girls Und Panzer Das Finale Part 5 Debuts October 9

The official website for the Girls und Panzer Das Finale OVA series has confirmed that the fifth installment of the six-part project will premiere in Japanese theaters on October 9, 2026.

This upcoming release will be available in multiple formats including standard screenings, 4DX, MX4D, Dolby Atmos, and for the first time in the series, Dolby Cinema.

The Das Finale series serves as a sequel to the original 2012 television anime and the 2015 feature film, with previous chapters having debuted in December 2017, June 2019, March 2021, and October 2023.

Director Tsutomu Mizushima returns to lead the production of the fifth part at animation studio Actas.

In addition to the main series news, producers revealed that a pilot animation for the spinoff Girls und Panzer: Princess Samurai, also known as Ribbon no Musha, is in development.

The pilot is based on the manga by Takeshi Nogami and Takaaki Suzuki, which focuses on the high-stakes world of Tankathlon, an unofficial and unregulated form of tank combat featuring vehicles under ten tons.

The Ribbon no Musha pilot will be screened alongside the fourth chapter of another spinoff, Girls und Panzer: Motto Love Love Sakusen Desu!, which is set to release on April 10, 2026.

Morihito Abe is directing the pilot at Actas, featuring character designs by Shuhei Handa and mechanical designs by Takeshi Ito.

The writing team for the spinoff includes Takuya Miyashita and Yohei Penguin, with Shuhei Mutsuki composing the music under the Lantis label.

Other key staff members for the pilot include art director Satoru Hirayanagi, 3DCG director Kenji Isobe, and sound director Yoshikazu Iwanami.
