Frieren's Official MapleStory Collab Goes Global This September

Nexon has officially announced that Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is coming to Global MapleStory, bringing the hugely popular fantasy anime into Maple World for a new collaboration this September.

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End follows the elven mage Frieren decades after she helped defeat the Demon King alongside Himmel, Heiter and Eisen, with the death of Himmel eventually leading her to reconsider how she understands the comparatively short lives of the humans around her.

Her later journey sees Frieren travel alongside her apprentice Fern and warrior Stark as she heads toward Aureole, revisiting places from her original adventure while gradually learning more about the people she once considered companions.

The collaboration arrives several months after the anime completed its second season, while a third season covering the Golden Land arc has already been confirmed to begin airing in Japan in October 2027.

Nexon has yet to reveal the full event structure, rewards or Cash Shop lineup planned for Global MapleStory, but the crossover has previously appeared in other regional versions of the MMORPG with a much larger selection of content than a straightforward costume release.

The Japanese version included character outfit sets based on Frieren, Fern, Stark, Himmel, Übel, Aura, Linie and Lügner, giving players several options for recreating characters from both Frieren’s travelling party and the wider anime cast.

Frieren and Fern’s staffs were also given their own visual skills, allowing players to trigger versions of Zoltraak while the respective weapons were equipped, although the effects were cosmetic rather than actual attacks.

Other crossover items released overseas included androids based on Frieren, Fern, Stark, Himmel and Übel alongside character expressions, themed name and chat rings, medals, titles and a custom Frieren background.

Several moments from the anime were turned into furniture as well, including a chair showing Frieren being eaten by a Mimic, another based on her blowing-kiss spell and an item recreating the field of flowers produced by one of her spells.

A set of miniature companion pets featuring Frieren, Fern, Stark and Übel was another part of the earlier release, with players who equipped three different pets able to unlock a Himmel statue chair.

Those previous items give Global MapleStory players an idea of how extensive the September crossover could become, although Nexon has not confirmed which costumes, pets, quests or rewards will carry across to the global version and whether any new content will be added.

The Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End collaboration will officially begin in Global MapleStory on September 9, 2026, with Nexon expected to reveal the event schedule and full item lineup closer to launch.
