Bandai is turning one of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End’s most iconic running jokes into a new functional figure designed to attach directly to a tissue box.

The new prize from their Banpresto brand recreates the familiar sight of Frieren being swallowed headfirst by a Mimic, leaving only the lower half of the normally powerful elven mage sticking helplessly out of its mouth.

Officially titled “Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Attach to Tissue! Action Figure – It’s Dark! It’s Scary!,” the figure sits on top of a standard tissue box and feeds tissues through an opening in the Mimic’s back.

Pulling a tissue activates an internal mechanism that makes Frieren’s exposed legs flap up and down, recreating her desperate attempts to escape from the monster.

The gimmick is based on a recurring joke from the anime and manga, where Frieren’s obsession with potentially finding rare grimoires inside treasure chests repeatedly overrides her better judgment when confronted with an obvious Mimic.

Her resulting cries of “It’s dark! It’s scary!” have also become closely associated with the gag.

The figure measures approximately 8 cm tall and 9 cm wide, keeping the Mimic compact enough to sit above a tissue box without taking up too much additional space.

It also gives the familiar scene a new twist after it has already inspired several pieces of official merchandise, including SEGA’s popular Luminasta figure of Frieren trapped inside a Mimic.

That earlier release focused entirely on recreating the joke as a static display, while Banpresto’s new version turns the same scene into an interactive household accessory.

The Mimic gag has also continued to appear across other recent Frieren projects, including the franchise’s MapleStory collaboration, which transformed the scene into an in-game furniture item depicting Frieren stuck inside the monster.
