SEGA's popular figure of Frieren being eaten by a Mimic is getting a re-release

Sega has announced that it will be re-releasing a popular prize figure based on the hit anime series Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End.

The “Frieren ~in Mimic~ Luminasta” is a recreation of one of the most famous and beloved running gags from the series.

In the series, despite being an immensely powerful and ancient elven mage, the protagonist Frieren has a critical weakness for treasure chests, which often turn out to be dangerous monsters known as mimics.

The recurring scene of her getting caught with her head and upper body stuck inside a chomping mimic has become an iconic and humorous part of the franchise.

The figure is part of the “Luminasta” line, a popular brand of high-quality prize figures from Sega.

The product is a set that includes a figure of Frieren and a separate, openable mimic figure.

The two parts can be combined to faithfully recreate the classic gag scene, or they can be displayed separately.

This release offers fans who may have missed the initial run another opportunity to acquire the charming and funny display piece.

As a “prize figure,” this item will be primarily available to be won in crane games and other arcade machines.

The re-release of the “Frieren ~in Mimic~ Luminasta” is scheduled to begin its rollout in amusement facilities across Japan next month, starting on Friday, the 12th of September, 2025.

An international release will be available from most hobby goods stores around 1-2 months after the initial arcade release in Japan.
