The esteemed luxury timepiece brand FRANCK MULLER has released a new range of watches in collaboration with iconic RPG Final Fantasy.

Expanding upon its celebrated “Vanguard” collection, the brand is set to release a series of four limited-edition collaboration models in partnership with “Final Fantasy XVI,” the latest entry in the Final Fantasy RPG series by Square Enix.

These exclusive timepieces will be offered with prices commencing at 2,860,000 Japanese yen (tax included, approx. $19,738 USD/£15,278 GBP).

Kazuya Takahashi, the individual responsible for the character design of “FF16,” offered his insights on this specific model, stating:

“When I contemplate ‘Final Fantasy,’ the color pure white invariably serves as my initial point of reference.”

Consequently, for this special model, there was no other color that felt as inherently fitting as white. 

Upon this foundation of white, I proceeded to layer and integrate the visual representations of the ‘Fire Summon Ifrit,’ the ‘Phoenix of Resurrection and Protection,’ and the ‘Symbol of Power, Bahamut.’ 

This design was directly inspired by the three characters who fight alongside each other in the climactic final battle, and specifically the memorable sight of Bahamut taking flight with them aboard. 

The red wish star that makes an appearance within the story, likened to the moon’s satellite Meteor, is symbolically represented by the tourbillon mechanism, and I strategically positioned it adjacent to these figures as if in a state of watchful guardianship.” 

The characters of Ifrit, Phoenix, and Bahamut are depicted as a unified trinity on the dial, and a sophisticated tourbillon mechanism is prominently installed at the 6 o’clock position. 

The overall face design, which seamlessly blends artistic expression with advanced horological technology, is an absolute must-see for both devoted fans of the “Final Fantasy” franchise and those with a general appreciation for exceptional watchmaking.
