Final Fantasy Legend Designs Exclusive New Fullmetal Alchemist Pixel Art Collection
Image by James RichardsonSquare Enix has announced a new Fullmetal Alchemist merchandise collection that transforms several of the manga’s most recognizable characters into original pixel art created by veteran Final Fantasy artist Kazuko Shibuya.
The new “Fullmetal Alchemist Dot Art” designs feature Edward Elric, Alphonse Elric, Winry Rockbell, Roy Mustang, Riza Hawkeye, Envy and Greed (Ling), with each character rebuilt in the distinctive pixel style Shibuya has helped define across decades of Square Enix games.
Shibuya has been creating character sprites for Final Fantasy since the earliest games in the series and was also responsible for redrawing the playable characters used across the more recent Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster releases.
Her new Fullmetal Alchemist artwork will appear across clothing, accessories and collectibles, with the first group of products receiving an early release at Tokyo Game Show 2026 later this month.

- “Fullmetal Alchemist Clear File Set: Mustang & Hawkeye (Dot Art)” – ¥880 (approx. $6 USD / £4 GBP)
- “Fullmetal Alchemist T-Shirt (Dot Art)” – ¥3,300 (approx. $21 USD / £16 GBP), available in M and L sizes
- “Fullmetal Alchemist Embroidered Hoodie (Dot Art)” – ¥8,800 (approx. $56 USD / £42 GBP)
- “Fullmetal Alchemist Tote Bag (Dot Art)” – ¥2,530 (approx. $16 USD / £12 GBP)
The embroidered hoodie places Shibuya’s pixel version of Edward on the chest, while the tote bag brings all seven characters together across a canvas design large enough to hold A4 documents.
The collection will expand further during October with a seven-design set of trading rubber charms and a sticker set containing 14 designs, giving each of the seven characters both standing and walking poses.
Those later additions will be sold through TSUTAYA IP bookstores and at the Hokkaido stop of the “Fullmetal Alchemist x Daemons of the Shadow Realm Exhibition”.
The first wave of “Fullmetal Alchemist Dot Art” merchandise will be available early through the Square Enix Shop merchandise booth at Tokyo Game Show 2026, which begins at Makuhari Messe on September 17.
Wider sales of the collection will follow through participating locations in Japan from October 2026.
