Fate/EXTRA Record Delayed Indefinitely As New Publisher Announced

TYPE-MOON has officially announced a significant delay for Fate/EXTRA Record, moving the title from its original spring 2026 release window to an unannounced date.
The developer revealed that the project is undergoing a revision of its development structure alongside a change in publishing partners.
Bandai Namco Entertainment will no longer serve as the publisher for the remake following recent discussions with TYPE-MOON’s parent company, Notes.
Despite these logistical changes, development on the remake of the classic RPG continues under the direction of Kazuya Niinou at TYPE-MOON studio bb.
The title remains in development for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
A new publisher and a revised release date will be shared with the public once those details have been finalized.
This remake aims to modernize the original Fate/EXTRA experience, which first debuted on the PlayStation Portable with its unique turn-based combat system.
The announcement on March 15, 2026, marks a major shift for the highly anticipated title as it moves away from its previously scheduled spring launch.
