Fatal Fury gets a new chronograph watch collection starring Terry and Mai
A pair of limited-edition chronograph watches has been announced based on the fighting game Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves.
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is the latest installment in the classic fighting game series.
The new products, from the manufacturer Toei, are themed around two of the most iconic characters from the long-running SNK franchise: Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui.
They join a previously released pair of limited-edition chronograph watches that commemorated the 30th anniversary of The King of Fighters.
Each of the two new Fatal Fury watches is a collector’s item, limited to a worldwide production run of 2,000 pieces.
The Terry Bogard model is a chronograph inspired by the “Legendary Hungry Wolf.”
Its dial features a textured guilloché pattern designed to look like concrete, which is aggressively engraved with a wolf’s claw mark.
The watch is also decorated with star-shaped metal parts, a reference to the trademark star on Terry’s hat and jacket.
The Mai Shiranui model is a tribute to the famous kunoichi, based on her new costume from the upcoming game.
The dial features a three-dimensional floral pattern taken from her new jacket, and the hands of the sub-dials are shaped like her signature fans.
Both watches are made from stainless steel and come with an easily interchangeable genuine leather strap.
A number of exclusive bonus items are also included with each watch, all of which feature new, original artwork from the official SNK illustrator and character designer, Eisuke Ogura.
The bonus items include an acrylic watch stand and a guarantee card, both featuring a new illustration of the respective character wearing the watch, and a premium, foil-stamped collector’s box.
Each of the watches is priced at ¥29,700 (approx. $202 USD/£149 GBP) and is available to order from the official distributor via the Anime Collection online store.
