Fans get another chance to collect sold out Gundam mini-figures
Gundam fans will have another opportunity to acquire a sought-after set of mini figures that previously sold out when first released.
BANDAI has announced the re-release of the capsule toy “Mobile Suit Gundam MOBILE SUIT ENSEMBLE 12,” which features a variety of Gundams and mobile suits.
The “Mobile Suit Gundam MOBILE SUIT ENSEMBLE” series is a popular line of Gashapon (capsule toys) that features mobile suits from the expansive “Gundam” universe in a deformed, yet highly detailed, design.
The core concept of the series is “infinite customization” which sees collectors given the ability to freely rearrange and combine parts between different figures due to standardized joint systems.
This modularity, combined with a surprising level of articulation for capsule toys, offers extensive customization possibilities, encouraging fans to create their own unique mobile suit configurations despite the figures’ compact size.
“Mobile Suit Gundam MOBILE SUIT ENSEMBLE 12” features a lineup of mobile suits and equipment from different series.
The re-release includes the full assortment of figures that was available in the original release:
- G-Self
This mobile suit is the protagonist’s mech from “Gundam Reconguista in G” (G-Reco), an anime series directed by Gundam creator Yoshiyuki Tomino.
The G-Self is known for its distinctive design and its ability to equip various “backpacks” that alter its capabilities.
- FA Gundam Unit 7
Also known as the Full Armor Gundam 7th, this mobile suit is part of the “Missing Mobile Suit Variations” (M-MSV) and later featured prominently in the video game “Mobile Suit Gundam: Battlefield Record U.C. 0081.”
It is a heavily armored and armed variant of the original RX-78 Gundam and known for its formidable firepower.
- High Mobility Type Zaku II (Black Tri-Stars specification)
A highly iconic mobile suit from the original “Mobile Suit Gundam” series and subsequent “Mobile Suit Variations” (MSV).
This specific variant is piloted by the elite Zeon ace team, the Black Tri-Stars.
- G-Self Space Pack
This is an accessory for the G-Self, allowing for its transformation and enhancing its combat capabilities in space, aligning with the “infinite customization” theme of the Ensemble series.
- MS Weapon Set
A generic weapon set designed to be compatible with the figures in the series, offering additional customization options and armaments to enhance display possibilities.
The re-release of “Mobile Suit Gundam MOBILE SUIT ENSEMBLE 12” is now available to pre-order through Bandai’s official Gashapon Online store.
It will cost at 500 yen (approximately $3.20 USD) per virtual Gashapon spin and figures are anticipated to ship in late October.
