Evangelion Reveals Massive New Official Asuka Statue with Lifelike Skin
Image by Charlotte DavisInfinity Studio has unveiled a new premium Evangelion statue based on Asuka Shikinami Langley, recreating the pilot in her damaged red plugsuit from “Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time”.
Asuka Shikinami Langley was introduced in “Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance” as the Rebuild movies’ version of Evangelion Unit-02’s fiery pilot, before going on to play a major role throughout the remaining films.
Infinity Studio has taken a mixed-material approach to the figure, using a resin face sculpt alongside layered PU hair designed to reproduce the loose strands and movement of Asuka’s hairstyle.
Medical-grade platinum silicone is used across exposed areas of skin to create a softer and more realistic finish, while polystone, PU, and resin are combined throughout the remaining parts of the statue.
The damaged plugsuit has also been recreated using multiple materials and paint finishes, with tears across the outfit exposing sections of the silicone body beneath.
Asuka is posed with a softer expression than many of her more confrontational appearances, matching the subdued atmosphere of the scene that inspired the statue.
The display is completed by a Red Sea-themed base fitted with an integrated LED lighting system, recreating the setting of the original scene.
The completed 1/2-scale statue stands approximately 98 cm tall, with a width of around 40.5 cm and a depth of 43 cm, making it one of the largest officially licensed Asuka statues currently announced.
Its scale is more than double that of the recent 44 cm “Rebuild of Evangelion Yoshitoku x F:NEX Asuka Shikinami Langley -Japanese Doll-” figure, which instead reimagined Asuka in a genuine fabric kimono inspired by traditional Japanese doll craftsmanship.
Asuka has also received another premium interpretation during 2026 through Prime 1 Studio’s 1/4-scale Premium Masterline statue based on “Thrice Upon a Time”, offering a much smaller but similarly high-end take on the character.
Production of Infinity Studio’s new Asuka statue, priced at 8,180 yuan (approximately $1,219 / £923), will be strictly limited to 299 pieces worldwide, with pre-orders set to open through specialist statue retailers shortly.
Shipping is currently expected during the second quarter of 2027.
