Daemons Of The Shadow Realm Unveils New Character Art Ahead of Debut

Following the events of AnimeJapan 2026, the upcoming television anime based on the supernatural adventure manga Daemons of the Shadow Realm has unveiled new character art for its six primary characters and their companion Daemons.

The animated series is scheduled to begin its broadcast in Japan on April 3, 2026, with Crunchyroll confirmed to stream the title as part of its spring 2026 anime season lineup.

The production features a staff of industry veterans, including director Masahiro Ando, known for his work on Sword of the Stranger, at the renowned animation studio bones.

Noboru Takagi, who previously worked on Golden Kamuy, is handling the series composition, while Nobuhiro Arai of Bungo Stray Dogs fame is providing the character designs and serving as chief animation director.

The musical score for the project is being composed by Kenichiro Suehiro, whose previous credits include the soundtrack for Fire Force.

The original manga series by creator Hiromu Arakawa first began serialization in December 2021 within the pages of Square Enix’s Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine.

Since its debut, the manga has seen 12 collected volumes published in Japan, with Square Enix also handling the English language release for international audiences.

The story is set in a world where specific humans have the ability to command powerful supernatural pairs known as Daemons.

At the center of the narrative are twins Yuru and Asa, referred to as the children who sunder day and night, who hold the birthright to lead these entities.

Separated at a young age and kept in the dark regarding their true heritage, the siblings must struggle to reunite, embrace their destiny, and protect the world from emerging threats.
