Classic 90s Anime Martian Successor Nadesico Returns with New Scale Figure

Pre-orders have officially begun for a new 1/7 scale figure of Martian Successor Nadesico’s Ruri Hoshino, based on her appearance in the film “The Prince of Darkness.”
“Martian Successor Nadesico: The Prince of Darkness” is the 1998 theatrical sequel to the popular sci-fi anime series Martian Successor Nadesico.

The film follows the crew of the battleship Nadesico as they face new threats following a war between Earth and the “Jovian Lizards”.

Ruri Hoshino, often referred to as the “Electronic Fairy,” is the ship’s operator and later captain, celebrated by fans for her calm demeanor, twin-tails, and cynical catchphrases.
The new figure captures Ruri as she appears in the film, designed to look as though she has descended quietly from the sea of stars.

Sculpted using modern techniques, the figure features a pale and dignified expression that reflects her status as an enduring heroine of the genre.
Standing approximately 22cm in height, the 1/7 scale sculpt pays close attention to texture and material differences.

The futuristic metal parts of her outfit are painted to show different expressions, while her flowing hair uses pearl paint and clear parts for the hair ornaments to replicate the unique linework of the original illustrations.

The stockings are also finished with a thin pearl coating to differentiate the texture from the rest of her clothing.
A unique feature of this release is the packaging, which consists of a modern, minimalist box housed within a full-coverage sleeve designed to look like a VHS tape to evoke the era of the anime’s original release.

Purchases made through the Good Smile Company Official Shop will include an original booklet as a bonus.
This exclusive item is designed to resemble an anime magazine from the 90s and includes a tri-fold poster, pin-up photos of the product, and a discussion article featuring the production team.

The figure is priced at 19,800 yen (approx. $130 USD / £105 GBP), and pre-orders opened on Friday, February 6, 2026, and will run until Wednesday, April 22, 2026.

It is available via the Good Smile Company Official Shop and participating partner shops, such as HobbyLink Japan.
The new figure is scheduled to ship to customers in October 2026.
