Bandai Unveils New Gundam SEED DESTINY Kira Yamato S.H.Figuarts Figure
Bandai has fully revealed the new S.H.Figuarts Kira Yamato (Orb Union Pilot Suit Ver.), recreating the Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny protagonist as he appeared during the anime’s final confrontation.
Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny continues the conflict established in Mobile Suit Gundam SEED, returning to a world divided between genetically enhanced Coordinators and naturally born humans while introducing a new generation of pilots.
Kira is one of the central characters, an exceptionally skilled Coordinator who initially fought aboard the Archangel before joining Orb’s efforts to bring an end to the renewed conflict.
The new S.H.Figuarts release shows Kira in the red, white and blue Orb pilot suit worn during the closing stages of SEED Destiny, with an entirely new sculpt used to capture his appearance from the series.
Its articulation has been improved over the previously released Compass Pilot Suit version, allowing Kira to be placed in a broader range of natural standing, action and weapon-holding poses.
Three interchangeable expression parts are included, giving fans several options for recreating Kira’s reactions across the series rather than limiting the figure to a single neutral appearance.
A separate helmet-compatible expression, helmet, and dedicated neck component allow the pilot suit to be displayed in its complete form without compromising the proportions around Kira’s head.
The included pistol can be combined with the alternate hands and expressions to recreate Kira’s confrontation with Gilbert Durandal during the final episode of SEED Destiny.
The complete accessory selection also includes three interchangeable left hands and three interchangeable right hands, providing enough variety for both restrained character poses and more dramatic scenes.
The figure stands approximately 14 cm tall, keeping it consistent with the wider S.H.Figuarts range and making it easy to display alongside other Gundam SEED releases.
The announcement follows several other recent additions to the ever-growing Gundam SEED merchandise lineup, including a Gundam Base-exclusive Gunpla set pairing the gold-coated Akatsuki Gundam with its Oowashi equipment and the enormous Zeus Silhouette.
Bandai Spirits has also revealed a METAL BUILD version of the Meteor support unit, offering a premium figure designed to pair with other compatible METAL BUILD releases.
The S.H.Figuarts Kira Yamato (Orb Union Pilot Suit Ver.) is priced at ¥9,900 (approx. $61 USD / £46 GBP) and will be available to pre-order from August 3 through retailers such as HobbyLink Japan.
The figure is currently scheduled for release in December 2026.
