Bandai Unveils Massive New Gundam SEED METAL BUILD METEOR Unit

Bandai’s TAMASHII NATIONS has officially revealed the METAL BUILD METEOR Unit, with the enormous Gundam SEED support weapon set to become the largest product ever produced in the premium die-cast action figure line.
Mobile Suit Gundam SEED remains one of the franchise’s most popular entries, following the conflict between the Earth Alliance and ZAFT while introducing legendary Mobile Suits such as the Freedom Gundam and Justice Gundam, both of which famously deployed alongside the powerful METEOR support system during the series’ climactic battles.

Originally developed by ZAFT as the Tactical Assault Module M.E.T.E.O.R. (Multi-phase Energy Tactical Enforcement Operation Result), the enormous support unit was designed to dramatically increase a Mobile Suit’s speed, mobility, and firepower through an arsenal of high-energy beam cannons, anti-ship missiles, and massive beam sabers powered by nuclear energy.

The METAL BUILD METEOR Unit was developed in collaboration with Gundam SEED mechanical animation director Satoshi Shigeta and the METAL BUILD Gundam SEED design team, faithfully recreating the enormous weapon platform with an exceptional level of mechanical detail.

At approximately 70.5 cm long and weighing around 2.5 kg, the model features intricately sculpted armor, die-cast metal components, realistic paint applications and detailed printed markings across its massive exterior, making it the largest item ever released in the METAL BUILD lineup.

The METEOR Unit is compatible with multiple METAL BUILD releases including the Freedom Gundam, Justice Gundam and Strike Freedom Gundam, while its connecting system also allows it to be paired with Mobile Suits that never used the equipment in the anime, including the Strike Gundam, Gundam Astray and Impulse Gundam.

When combined with a compatible Mobile Suit, the overall length extends to an impressive 86 cm, accurately recreating the overwhelming scale seen in the anime.

Collectors will also find an extensive range of interactive features, including opening missile hatches across the unit, transformable front weapon arms that switch between the 120 cm High-Energy Beam Cannon and MA-X200 Beam Saber configurations, deployable cannon barrels, rotating engine units, expanding thrusters, and detachable armament sections for a wide variety of display options.

The METAL BUILD METEOR Unit is priced at ¥88,000 through Premium Bandai Japan or $800 USD through Premium Bandai US, with pre-orders now available through both.

Shipping is scheduled for February 2027 in Japan, with the US release following in March 2027.
