Bandai Saves One of Gundam’s Strangest Mobile Suits for Last as Zock Finally Joins ROBOT SPIRITS Ver. A.N.I.M.E.

Bandai is finally completing its ROBOT SPIRITS ver. A.N.I.M.E. lineup of Mobile Suits from the original Mobile Suit Gundam anime, with the imposing MSM-10 Zock becoming the last remaining machine from the series to receive its own figure.
The new “ROBOT SPIRITS

ROBOT SPIRITS ver. A.N.I.M.E. focuses on reproducing Mobile Suits with proportions and articulation closely inspired by their animated appearances, with the original 1979 Mobile Suit Gundam forming one of the most extensive parts of the long-running line.

Zock now fills one of its most conspicuous remaining gaps, completing the collection of Mobile Suits that appeared in the original anime decades after the machine first made its appearance during Zeon’s attack on Jaburo.

Developed by the Principality of Zeon during the One Year War, the MSM-10 is one of the series’ largest amphibious Mobile Suits and uses an almost completely symmetrical front-and-back structure that allows it to rapidly reverse its direction of attack.

Rather than conventionally walking across land, Zock uses hover movement through its legs, while its weapons include eight Mega Particle Cannons positioned across the front and rear, a Phonon Maser Cannon on top of its head, and large Iron Nails for close combat.

Bandai has recreated that unconventional structure with joints designed to move in both forward and backward directions, allowing the figure’s articulation to work naturally regardless of which side of Zock is facing its opponent.

Each of the six individual claws forming its two Iron Nails also incorporates three points of articulation, allowing them to open and close independently rather than relying on fixed interchangeable parts.

The most elaborate feature can be found inside Zock’s head, where one side of the mono-eye rail incorporates multiple LEDs capable of recreating the camera’s movement from side to side and vertically through changing illumination patterns.

The lighting can also be stopped at a chosen position using the figure’s controls, while the mono-eye on the opposite side can be rotated to create additional changes in its appearance.

Bandai has included translucent smoke effect parts that can attach directly to the body, allowing scenes involving underwater smoke deployment or the damaged Zock immediately before an explosion to be recreated.

A dedicated display stand is also included for presenting the Mobile Suit in a cruising pose, while effect parts supplied with other separately sold ROBOT SPIRITS ver. A.N.I.M.E. figures can be attached to expand underwater and hovering displays even further.

The Zock’s arrival will coincide with several returning Zeon amphibious Mobile Suits, with Bandai also preparing March 2027 re-releases of the ROBOT SPIRITS ver. A.N.I.M.E. Char’s Z’Gok, mass-production Z’Gok, Acguy, and Gogg.
