Bandai Reveals Full October 2026 Gunpla Release Schedule
Image by Charlotte DavisBandai has confirmed its full October 2026 Gunpla release schedule, with three new kits joining the High Grade, Master Grade, and Real Grade lines throughout the month.
One general retail release will arrive alongside two Premium Bandai exclusives, covering After War Gundam X, Gundam Sentinel and the ongoing crossover between Mobile Suit Gundam and Sgt. Frog.
October’s lineup also arrives during the 30th anniversary year of After War Gundam X, which has seen Bandai return to several of the anime’s mobile suits through both completely new kits and re-releases of older models.
The “HG 1/144 Gundam Virsago,” priced at ¥3,190 (approximately $20 / £15), will be October’s sole general retail Gunpla release.
Piloted by Shagia Frost in After War Gundam X, Gundam Virsago is one of the two mobile suits used by the Frost brothers and stands apart through its red armor, extendable Strike Claws, and powerful abdominal Mega Sonic Cannon.
The new kit is the first modern High Grade release for Gundam Virsago, rebuilding the mobile suit in Bandai’s latest HG format rather than returning to one of its much older model kits.
Both Strike Claws can extend from the arms, while the abdominal armor opens to recreate the firing configuration for the Mega Sonic Cannon.
Two Strike Shooters are included and can be connected together, with a Beam Saber, interchangeable hand parts, and foil stickers completing the kit’s accessories.
Gundam Virsago will soon be joined by its partner mobile suit, with Shagia’s younger brother Olba Frost and his “HG 1/144 Gundam Ashtaron” receiving their own completely new Gunpla release in November.
The “MG 1/100 Gundam Mk-V (Federation Color),” priced at ¥9,900 (approximately $63 / £47), will arrive as the first of October’s two Premium Bandai exclusives.
Based on Gundam Sentinel, the Master Grade kit recreates the Gundam Mk-V in its original rollout colors from the Earth Federation’s Augusta Research Institute, replacing the dark blue appearance most closely associated with the mobile suit with a predominantly gray finish.
This version retains the imposing proportions and extensive mechanical features of the existing MG Gundam Mk-V while introducing a newly molded Beam Rifle based on the weapon used during its earlier testing configuration.
Its wire-guided Incom weapons can be deployed from the backpack, while the missile pods and shoulder-mounted Beam Cannons add to the Gundam Mk-V’s considerable arsenal.
The large Shield can alternatively be mounted across the backpack, and oversized Beam Saber effects are included alongside a dedicated sheet of water-transfer decals for adding additional markings across the model.
October’s final new Gunpla is the “RG 1/144 RX-178 Gundam Mk-II (Keroro Specification),” a Premium Bandai exclusive priced at ¥4,180 (approximately $27 / £20).
The kit forms part of 2026’s crossover between Gundam and Sgt. Frog, transforming the RX-178 Gundam Mk-II with a green, yellow, and white color scheme inspired directly by Keroro.
Custom decals extend the Sgt. Frog theme across the finished model with Keroro illustrations and star motifs, while series creator Mine Yoshizaki has also produced original full-color artwork for the kit’s packaging.
Underneath the crossover styling, the model retains the weapons and features of the existing Real Grade Gundam Mk-II, including its Beam Rifle, Hyper Bazooka, Shield and Beam Sabers.
The Keroro Specification Gundam Mk-II has also been confirmed for release in the US, where the Premium Bandai-exclusive kit is priced at $48 and scheduled to ship in December 2026, two months after its Japanese release.
In Japan, the “HG 1/144 Gundam Virsago” will receive its general retail release on October 31, while the Premium Bandai-exclusive “MG 1/100 Gundam Mk-V (Federation Color)” and “RG 1/144 RX-178 Gundam Mk-II (Keroro Specification)” are both scheduled to begin shipping during October.
Gunpla builders will also have several closely related releases arriving on October 31 as Bandai prepares to officially launch Gundam Assemble, its new tabletop game built around approximately 5 cm plastic Gundam miniatures that players can assemble, paint, and use in battle.
Among the first releases will be the ¥3,300 (approximately $21 / £16) “GUNDAM ASSEMBLE Expansion Pack 01 [EX01]” based on Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn and the identically priced “GUNDAM ASSEMBLE Expansion Pack 02 [EX02]” featuring mobile suits from Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury.
The ¥4,290 (approximately $27 / £21) “GUNDAM ASSEMBLE Paint Pack 01 [PA01]” will also launch in October, combining unpainted RX-78-2 Gundam, Guntank, and Guncannon miniatures with a brush and four Gundam Assemble colors for players who want to customize their units before taking them into battle.
