Bandai Fully Reveals New Gundam x Sgt. Frog Crossover Gunpla Kit as Pre-Orders Open

Bandai has officially opened pre-orders for a new Gunpla kit based on one of the most unexpected Gundam crossovers of 2026.
The RG 1/144 RX-178 Gundam Mk-II (Keroro Specification) kit is part of the ongoing collaboration between Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam and Sgt. Frog, which was created to celebrate the release of the new Sgt. Frog theatrical movie and has already introduced crossover artwork, animated appearances, and exclusive model kits featuring characters and mecha from both series.

Originally appearing in Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam, the RX-178 Gundam Mk-II was developed by the Titans as the successor to the iconic RX-78 Gundam and became one of the defining mobile suits of the Universal Century timeline thanks to its revolutionary movable frame design and its role in Kamille Bidan’s story.

This special edition reimagines the Real Grade kit with an eye-catching green, yellow, and white color scheme inspired by Keroro, instantly transforming the normally military-inspired mobile suit into a playful tribute to the famous alien invader.

The crossover treatment extends beyond the plastic parts with an exclusive sheet of decals featuring Keroro illustrations and star motifs, while Sgt. Frog creator Mine Yoshizaki has provided completely new full-color artwork for the kit’s box.

Despite its distinctive appearance, the model retains all of the engineering that made the original Real Grade release so popular, including the Advanced MS Joint inner frame, highly detailed color-separated armor and interlocking construction that allows for a wide range of dynamic poses.

Accessories remain unchanged from the standard release and include a Beam Rifle, Beam Sabers, Hyper Bazooka, Shield, spare energy packs and additional bazooka magazines, allowing builders to recreate a variety of display options from Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam.

The RG 1/144 RX-178 Gundam Mk-II (Keroro Specification) joins the previously announced Keroro Robo Mk-II (Titans Color), another collaboration model kit that reimagines Keroro’s own robot in the dark blue colors of the Titans faction to further celebrate the partnership between the two franchises.

The RG 1/144 RX-178 Gundam Mk-II (Keroro Specification) is priced at ¥4,180 (approx. $28 USD / £21 GBP) and is now available to pre-order exclusively through Premium Bandai Japan.

The kit is scheduled for release in October 2026, with no international release through Premium Bandai US having been announced at the time of writing.
