Bandai Spirits has opened pre-orders for a new model kit based on the gritty world of Gundam Sentinel.
The newly revealed MG 1/100 Gundam Mk-V (Federation Color) brings a fresh take to a notoriously powerful mobile suit.
Originating as a celebrated photo-novel serial published in the late 1980s, Gundam Sentinel is famous among fans thanks to its heavily detailed mechanical designs and intense, tactical space combat.
Set in Universal Century 0088, the conflict takes place during the aftermath of the Gryps War, showcasing experimental technology that bridges the gap between different generations of warfare.
The plot follows a rogue Earth Federation faction calling themselves the New Desides, who utilize advanced weaponry to wage a desperate rebellion against their former allies.
Fans typically recognize the towering Gundam Mk-V by its striking dark blue paint job, but this new Master Grade release opts for a completely different aesthetic.
The MG 1/100 Gundam Mk-V (Federation Color) captures the unit in its original rollout state before deployment, swapping the iconic blue for a sleek, gray-centric color scheme that reflects its initial testing phase at the Earth Federation’s Augusta Research Institute.
Builders can faithfully recreate the various weapon mechanics this suit is known for, including fully functional deployment features for its signature wire-guided Incom system, heavy missile pods, and shoulder-mounted beam cannons.
A newly molded beam rifle is also included alongside the main unit, featuring a distinct, curved design that sets it apart from standard military weaponry.
The massive defensive shield can even be directly mounted onto the backpack to seamlessly configure the suit for different combat scenarios.
Accessories packed with the kit include large beam saber effect parts to simulate the immense output of its devastating melee weapons.
A dedicated sheet of water-transfer decals is also provided, allowing builders to apply realistic warning markings and technical details across the armor panels.
