Bandai Re-Releases Exclusive Eco-Friendly Unicorn Gundam Gunpla Kit

Bandai has announced the re-release of a specialized Gunpla model kit based on the titular mobile suit from Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn.

The “MG 1/100 Unicorn Gundam [Recirculation Color/Clear Neon Green]” offers builders a unique take on the iconic transforming machine.

Originally released in May 2025, the “MG 1/100 Unicorn Gundam [Recirculation Color/Clear Neon Green]” is a popular entry in the ongoing “Gunpla Recycling Project” spearheaded by Bandai Spirits.

This eco-friendly initiative allows fans to drop off their discarded plastic runners at designated collection boxes, which the company then recycles and repurposes into brand-new model kits.

The result of this recycling process is the striking “Recirculation Color” aesthetic, which often incorporates neon colors that differ from the mobile suit’s original color scheme.

This kit features pitch-black outer armor made entirely from recycled plastic materials, providing a stark and dramatic contrast to typical bright Gundam color schemes.

The mobile suit’s exposed psycho-frame is molded in a clear neon green light-gathering resin that glows vividly when illuminated.

Master Grade kits, such as this re-release, feature a 1/100 scale and are renowned for their highly detailed internal frameworks.

This allows the finished model to fully replicate the complex transformation between its standard configuration and its high-performance state without needing to swap out parts.

When the kit is transformed from its Destroy Mode back into its standard Unicorn Mode, the vibrant green sections are completely hidden by the sliding armor panels.

This results in a sleek, entirely black silhouette that creates a vastly different display presence compared to similar units like the Banshee.

To further differentiate this special edition, the model includes exclusive marking seals.

These decals feature the signature “Re” logo associated with the Recirculation Color line and are designed to be applied to the right shoulder, left waist, and shield.

The “MG 1/100 Unicorn Gundam [Recirculation Color/Clear Neon Green]” is priced at 6,380 yen (approx. $41 USD/£32 GBP) and, as of mid-May 2026, it has returned to the shelves of Gundam Base stores across Japan.
