Snow Miku teams up with My Melody and Kuromi in adorable new merch line

The 2025 Snow Miku Festival is shaping up to be one of the best ever and a new collaboration with two of Sanrio’s most popular characters has now been announced.

Born from a snow sculpture of Hatsune Miku at the Sapporo Snow Festival in 2010, the Snow Miku Festival has been held in Hokkaido each year ever since.

Snow Miku is also now an official ambassador for a number of different events around Hokkaido, helping to promote tourism to the area as well as getting involved in initiatives to resolve social issues for residents of the prefecture.

For 2025, Snow Miku will be teaming up with My Melody and Kuromi in a new merchandise line that features some seriously cute items.

My Melody and Kuromi are both currently celebrating anniversaries, with My Melody’s 50th anniversary and Kuromi’s 20th anniversary taking place at the same time.

Two types of original illustration have been created for the collaboration, with popular artist “Nou” handling regular illustrations whilst Asahikawa Hiyori has drawn the chibi illustrations.

Different backgrounds for the artwork capture the essence of Hokkaido and Sapporo, with a daytime backdrop that depicts a snowy scene typical of the northernmost prefecture of Japan and a night-time backdrop that features illuminations and Sapporo’s iconic clock tower.

13 different types of merchandise will be available, with keyholders, clear files, acrylic stands and more all part of the line up.
