Yamaha Unveils New Official Hatsune Miku Piano
Yamaha Music Japan has unveiled a brand-new Hatsune Miku-themed street piano that will make its public debut during Hatsune Miku Magical Mirai 2026 before touring multiple event venues this summer.
Created in collaboration with Crypton Future Media, the special LovePiano feat. HATSUNE MIKU celebrates two major milestones arriving in 2027: Hatsune Miku’s 20th anniversary and the 10th anniversary of Yamaha’s LovePiano street piano project.
LovePiano was launched in 2017 with the goal of making pianos more accessible and encouraging people to experience the joy of performing in public spaces.
Since the initiative began, Yamaha has installed its brightly decorated upright pianos at more than 200 temporary locations across Japan, including railway stations, airports and shopping centers.
The custom Hatsune Miku piano features a unique design that blends LovePiano’s signature marble-style artwork with Miku’s iconic color palette.
The design also incorporates visual elements from Yamaha’s legendary DX7 synthesizer, which famously served as the inspiration for the outfit worn by the original VOCALOID2 Hatsune Miku.
Fans will have their first opportunity to see the piano during Hatsune Miku Magical Mirai 2026, which visits Hamamatsu, Osaka, and Tokyo between July and August.
The Hamamatsu venue, taking place from July 24 through July 26 at Act City Hamamatsu Exhibition Event Hall, will feature the piano as a display exhibit only.
Visitors attending the Osaka event at Intex Osaka Hall 3 from August 14 through August 16 will be able to freely perform on the piano as part of Yamaha’s LovePiano street piano initiative.
The same interactive experience will also be available during the Tokyo event at Makuhari Messe International Exhibition Halls 1, 2 and 3, running from August 28 through August 30.
Following its Magical Mirai appearances, LovePiano feat. HATSUNE MIKU will become part of Yamaha’s official LovePiano lineup and will be available for rental by local governments, commercial facilities and other organizations beginning in October 2026, meaning that the Hatsune Miku themed piano will likely appear elsewhere in Japan after this date.
