UNIQLO reveals Pokémon TCG collab designs and sets summer release date
UNIQLO’s popular “UT” T-shirt line is set to release a special collaboration collection featuring the immensely popular Pokémon Trading Card Game.
Pokémon, a franchise that began as a video game in 1996, quickly expanded into a multimedia empire, with the Pokémon Trading Card Game becoming one of the most successful trading card games in history.
Its enduring appeal lies in its unique and often adorable creatures, strategic gameplay, and universal themes of friendship and adventure.
UNIQLO’s UT, or “UNIQLO T-shirt,” line is renowned for its collaborations with pop culture phenomena, bringing art, anime, and games to everyday fashion.
Previous collaborations have included One Piece, Evangelion and Ghost in the Shell and Super Mario.
This marks the first UT collaboration directly tying into both the physical Pokémon TCG and the newly launched digital “Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket” app, which offers a fresh way to enjoy card collecting on smartphones.
The collaboration comes as the “Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket” gears up for the release of new “Extradimensional Crisis” cards, which brings “Ultra Beasts” into the game, on May 29th.
The UNIQLO UT collection will directly feature original illustrations from Pokémon cards, transforming beloved artwork into wearable designs.
Fans can expect to see popular Pokémon like Pikachu and Ditto emblazoned across the apparel.
