Uma Musume Launches Limited-Edition Whisky Collection Featuring Dream Journey and Epiphaneia
Image by Charlotte DavisUma Musume: Pretty Derby is getting a new limited-edition whisky collection pairing Dream Journey and Epiphaneia with two specially selected Speyside single malts.
Created with specialist retailer WHISKY MEW, the collection features a Glen Elgin 2009 carrying Dream Journey artwork and an Aultmore 2013 decorated with Epiphaneia, with both whiskies selected by critic and collector Hideo Yamaoka.
Uma Musume: Pretty Derby is Cygames’ multimedia franchise inspired by real-world racehorses, reimagining them as horse girls who train and compete while pursuing victory in the Twinkle Series.
The franchise celebrated the fifth anniversary of its mobile game earlier this year and has continued expanding through anime, music, merchandise and its ongoing 7th EVENT WORLD TOUR, which is set to visit Los Angeles, London and Seoul.
Dream Journey has also recently appeared in PREMICO’s new official Uma Musume watch collection, receiving a charcoal-gray design with red stitching and details inspired by her racing outfit.
WHISKY MEW has been pairing specially selected whisky with manga, anime, and other areas of Japanese pop culture since 2017, with Hideo Yamaoka choosing individual casks before each release is given artwork from its respective collaboration.
Recent releases have included an official Tokyo Ghoul whisky featuring Ken Kaneki and Rize Kamishiro, alongside previous collaborations with series including Death Note, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Inuyasha, Berserk and Hellsing.
Image by James RichardsonFor Dream Journey, Yamaoka selected a Glen Elgin single malt distilled in June 2009 and aged for 16 years before receiving an Oloroso cask finish.
The whisky combines aromas of chocolate cake and blueberry with notes of cocoa powder, honey and citrus, while retaining the fruity and floral character associated with Speyside malt.
Each Dream Journey bottle contains 700 ml at 51.6% ABV, with production limited to just 300 bottles in total.
Epiphaneia instead appears on an Aultmore single malt distilled in October 2013 and aged for 12 years, with a Port cask adding additional depth to the whisky.
Its flavor profile combines dried fruit, ripe peach and plum aromas with gentle sweetness, a measured bitterness reminiscent of cooked red beans, and a fresh spicy finish.
The Epiphaneia whisky is bottled at 52.4% ABV in a 700 ml bottle, with an even smaller production run limited to 296 bottles.
Both Uma Musume whiskies are priced at ¥19,250 each (approximately $122 / £93), with lottery applications now open through the official WHISKY MEW website until October 4, 2026, at 11:59 PM JST.
Of the complete production runs, 248 bottles of the Dream Journey Glen Elgin 2009 and 242 bottles of the Epiphaneia Aultmore 2013 have been allocated to the public lottery, with applications limited to a maximum of two bottles of each whisky per person.
