Japanese specialty retailer WHISKY MEW has announced an exciting new collaboration with the classic anime and manga franchise Inuyasha.
The new “Inuyasha Label Tomatin 2012” brings the beloved feudal fairy tale to a premium bottle of single malt Scotch whisky.
Inuyasha is a timeless adventure created by the legendary manga artist Rumiko Takahashi.
The series follows a modern-day high school girl named Kagome Higurashi who accidentally travels back in time to Japan’s war-torn Sengoku period.
She eventually teams up with a powerful half-demon boy named Inuyasha to search the countryside for the shattered pieces of the magical Shikon Jewel.
WHISKY MEW is heavily recognized among collectors for seamlessly combining high-quality spirits with celebrated pop culture franchises.
The brand previously released highly sought-after collaboration whiskies based on the dark fantasy series Berserk and Hellsing.
World-renowned whisky critic and collector Hideo Yamaoka carefully selected the specific cask for this latest crossover.
Yamaoka chose a Tomatin 2012 vintage specifically to match the grand romance and epic adventure found within the animated series.
The golden spirit features a flowery and fruity sweet aroma with subtle underlying hints of cheese and yeast.
Tasters can expect a sweet and spicy flavor profile accompanied by a bold, slightly waxy, and oily texture.
Adding a few drops of water effortlessly smooths out the beverage, making this highly unique expression even easier to drink.
The premium liquor was expertly distilled in Scotland and has been aged in casks for a total of 13 years.
It is bottled at a strong 60.1 percent alcohol by volume in a standard 700-milliliter size.
The “Inuyasha Label Tomatin 2012” is priced at 18,700 yen (approx. $125.00 USD / £98.50 GBP) including tax.
Production is strictly limited to an incredibly rare total of 287 bottles worldwide.
Due to the extremely low production numbers, sales for this item are being handled exclusively through an online lottery system.
Fans hoping to purchase one of the 223 allocated lottery bottles must submit an application to win the right to place an order.
WHISKY MEW has emphasized that the product is intended for fans to enjoy and strongly discourages purchasing the liquor for resale or auction purposes.
The digital reservation period officially opens via the official WHISKY MEW website on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, and will conclude on Tuesday, April 21, 2026.
Purchases are strictly limited to a maximum of two bottles per person.
