Two new Pac-Man themed gaming headsets set for release in 2026

Accessory manufacturer Type 2 has announced the release of two new headsets that blend modern audio technology with the visual style of one of the most enduring icons in video game history.
The “Pac-Man Noise Cancelling Headsets” are officially licensed by Bandai Namco Entertainment and are designed to serve both casual listeners and competitive players.

Since his arcade debut in 1980, Pac-Man has remained a global symbol of pop culture.

These new headsets capture that charm while providing the specifications expected of modern gaming gear.

The headsets feature the same underlying technology but will be available in two distinct aesthetic variations to suit different tastes.

The “Classic” model features a sleek black design with traditional arcade sprite art.

The “Neon Pop” version uses a bold purple color scheme with a more contemporary and vibrant artistic style.

Functionally, the headsets are equipped with Active Noise Cancelling.

This allows users to significantly reduce ambient noise with the touch of a button.

The feature is designed to help players focus on subtle in-game sound effects like enemy footsteps in FPS games or immersive RPG soundtracks.

The headset weighs approximately 217g and is designed for comfort during long sessions, including a built-in microphone for clear voice chat that does not obstruct the user’s face.

Connectivity is versatile, as the device comes with a 2.4GHz USB Type-C wireless receiver for low-latency gaming on PC and mobile, and it also supports a wired connection via a 3.5mm jack.

Technical specifications include 40mm driver units and a frequency response of 20Hz–20kHz, whilst the battery life is rated for approximately 18 hours on a 2.5-hour charge.

The compatibility list provided by the manufacturer explicitly includes the “Switch 2” alongside the Nintendo Switch, PS5, PS4, and PC.

This release joins a wave of nostalgic gaming merchandise announced this week.

It complements items such as the PlayStation x ANICORN Limited Edition Mechanical Watch and the “Dragon Quest Walk” XL Slamichi Plush.

The “Pac-Man Noise Cancelling Headset” is priced at 7,150 yen (approx. $48.00 USD / £37.50 GBP) and it will be available from general electronics retailers across Japan, as well as online retailers such as Amazon Japan, in February 2026.
