Two new Gundam themed luggage and travel accessory ranges are now on sale
Gundam fans now have a new way to carry their belongings in style, as a series of Mobile Suit Gundam and Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway themed travel items are now available to order.
The collection includes durable suitcases and practical travel bags, drawing inspiration from iconic factions within the Gundam universe.
The Gundam franchise, which originated with the Mobile Suit Gundam anime in 1979, has grown into a global cultural phenomenon, known for its realistic approach to giant robots, complex storylines, and exploration of war and humanity.
These new products offer fans a way to incorporate elements of their favorite series into their everyday travel.
The collection’s centerpiece is a line of suitcases constructed from tough, crack-resistant polycarbonate.
The Principality of Zeon model features the iconic Zeon emblem and “PRINCIPALITY OF ZEON” text elegantly embedded on the front.
Subtle green accents are integrated into the telescopic handle, casters, and grab handles.
The top surface also discreetly carries the “PRINCIPALITY OF ZEON” plate.
Inside, the lining is an olive-colored fabric printed with “PRINCIPALITY OF ZEON” text.
From Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway, the Mafty model carry case displays the distinctive Mafty emblem on its front plate.
Red accents appear on the telescopic handle, casters, and grab handles.
The top surface subtly includes a “MAFTY” plate and the interior boasts an original camouflage pattern incorporating the Mafty emblem.
Both suitcases share the same practical features:
- Dimensions: Approximately H54 (60) × W31 (32) × D32 (33) cm (measurements in parentheses include external parts like casters).
- Weight: Approximately 2.6 kg.
- Capacity: Approximately 46 liters.
- Mobility: Equipped with quiet, 360-degree rotating casters suitable for night travel.
- Adjustability: Three-stage adjustable telescopic handle.
- Security: Features a convenient lock system compatible with both cylinder and dial locks.
- Each carry case also includes a removable storage pouch.
Complementing the Mafty suitcase are two additional travel items designed for versatility and convenience:
- Mafty Model Foldable Boston Bag
This bag features the Mafty emblem and “MAFTY” text embroidered on the front, with a small original tag on the side.
The interior lining uses the same Mafty camouflage pattern as the carry case and includes a small pocket for organizing items.
Designed for flexibility, it folds into a compact size (approx. W15 × H17 × D4 cm) and can be quickly expanded into a Boston bag (approx. W35 × H29 × D15 cm).
A key feature is its ability to slip over a carry case handle, making it a functional carry-on bag for additional luggage.
- Mafty Model Pouch with Hanger
This pouch opens to reveal a built-in hanger, allowing it to be hung up for ease of access to contents.
The pouch also features three zippered pockets for easy organization of smaller items.
The dimensions of the pouch are approximately W20 × H23 × D10 cm (closed) and W20 × H50 × D10 cm (open).
The new suitcases and travel bags will soon be joined by other Gundam themed travel accessories, based on the same designs.
Luggage straps, eye masks, packing organisers and luggage tags will be amongst some of the other items that are set to go on sale in future.
Pre-orders for the new Gundam themed suitcases and travel bags are open through P-Bandai, with reservations set to close on the 30th of June, 2025.
Delivery of the products is currently scheduled to take place in July, 2025.
