Transformers New Legends Revives Beast Wars II Galvatron for New Premium Release
Takara Tomy has opened orders for the latest addition to its Transformers New Legends line, bringing Beast Wars II’s fearsome Galvatron back as a highly detailed premium action figure packed with transformation gimmicks and accessories.
Beast Wars II: Super Lifeform Transformers is a Japan-exclusive entry in the long-running Transformers franchise that follows the battle between the Maximals and the Predacons on Planet Gaia, introducing original characters and transformations that have remained fan favorites since the series first aired in the late 1990s.
The new release faithfully recreates Galvatron, the ruthless leader of the Predacons, who gained the ability to transform into new forms after scanning data from the Mother Computer.
By absorbing the mysterious Angolmois Energy buried beneath the planet, Galvatron dramatically increased his already formidable power, becoming one of the strongest warriors in the Beast Wars universe.
The figure accurately reproduces all three of Galvatron’s signature transformations, allowing collectors to seamlessly switch between Robot Mode, Drill Tank Mode, and Dragon Mode.
In Robot Mode, Galvatron is equipped with an impressive range of built-in weaponry, including removable Galva Axes mounted on both arms that can also be wielded as handheld weapons.
The large Scissor Hands attached to the figure’s back can also be detached and used as oversized claw weapons, adding even more display possibilities.
Drill Tank Mode features an enormous front-mounted drill that can rotate freely once its locking mechanism has been released, recreating the vehicle’s destructive capabilities from the series.
Dragon Mode incorporates multiple articulated joints throughout the neck, allowing for expressive posing, while the large wings feature articulated hinges that support a wide range of dynamic display options.
Takara Tomy’s New Legends line also introduces newly created Unicron Horn parts that allow collectors to recreate Galvatron’s appearance as the avatar of Unicron seen in Beast Wars Neo.
The package includes the Galvatron figure, two Galva Axes, two Scissor Hands, left and right Unicron Horn parts, a cover piece, and an instruction manual.
Standing approximately 26 cm tall, the figure is one of the largest releases in the current New Legends lineup and faithfully captures the imposing presence of the Predacon leader.
The Transformers New Legends NL-05 Galvatron (BWII) is priced at ¥18,700 (approx. $130 USD / £94 GBP).
Orders are now open through reputable hobby goods retailers such as HobbyLink Japan, and the figure is scheduled to begin shipping in late December 2026.
