Toy Story’s Aliens become sushi chefs in new capsule toy series

Japanese toy manufacturer Takara Tomy A.R.T.S. is releasing a new collection of capsule toys to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the animated film, Toy Story.
A set of new mini figures will be released as a “gacha” series, a line of collectible toys sold in randomized capsules from vending machines.

This special anniversary collection features the iconic, three-eyed green Aliens from Pizza Planet in a new and unique theme.
The “Toy Story 30th Anniversary Alien/Sushi Chef Figure Collection” reimagines the characters as miniature sushi chefs.

Each of the small, approximately 55-millimeter figures depicts an Alien carrying a different piece of sushi “neta,” or topping, on its back.
The lineup features a total of four different sushi-themed designs for fans to collect.
The full list of figures in the set is as follows:
- Alien (Tuna)

- Alien (Salmon)

- Alien (Egg)

- Alien (Cucumber Roll)

The figures are made from PVC and feature detailed sculpting, such as a glossy paint finish on the “nori” seaweed for the egg sushi figure.
This new collection offers a charming and humorous fusion of the classic Toy Story characters with the world of Japanese cuisine.

The “Toy Story 30th Anniversary Alien/Sushi Chef Figure Collection” capsule toy collection is priced at ¥400 per attempt, and it is scheduled to become available from gacha machines across Japan from mid-August.
