Tokyo Ghoul Returns to √A for New Premium Figure Release

Rocket Toys has unveiled a new 1/6 scale action figure based on Ken Kaneki’s appearance in Tokyo Ghoul √A, recreating one of his most intimidating looks following his decision to join Aogiri Tree.
Tokyo Ghoul began as a manga by Sui Ishida, serialized in Weekly Young Jump from 2011 to 2014, before Studio Pierrot adapted the series into a television anime in 2014.

The story follows college student Ken Kaneki after a life-changing accident transforms him into a half-Ghoul, forcing him to navigate a violent world divided between humans and flesh-eating Ghouls.

This new premium figure is inspired by Kaneki’s appearance during Tokyo Ghoul √A, where he leaves Anteiku behind and joins Aogiri Tree in an effort to become stronger and protect those closest to him.

The “Tokyo Ghoul Ken Kaneki (Battle Clothes Ver.) 1/6 Scale Action Figure,” priced at 2,050 RMB (approx. $285 USD / £220 GBP), stands approximately 27.5 cm tall and recreates Kaneki wearing his black short-sleeved jacket, black shorts, and black bodysuit battle outfit using tailored fabric clothing.

The figure appears to utilize the same seamless body developed for the companion “Awakening Ver.,” which we’ll take a look at shortly, allowing for a more natural appearance and smoother articulation.

Collectors can choose between normal eyes, one Ghoul eye, or a pair of all-white eyes, with an articulated eye mechanism and included adjustment tool making it possible to fine-tune Kaneki’s gaze for different display options.

Accessories include two interchangeable head sculpts, featuring both his signature eyepatch mask and the terrifying expression of his Centipede form.

The figure also comes with twelve interchangeable hands, a coffee cup, and Kakuja effect parts that can be combined with the alternate heads and white eye parts to recreate the overwhelming presence of the SS-rated Ghoul known as Centipede.

Removing the black jacket further expands the display possibilities, allowing collectors to faithfully recreate several memorable scenes from Tokyo Ghoul √A.

Rocket Toys has also revealed the companion “Tokyo Ghoul Ken Kaneki (Awakening Ver.) 1/6 Scale Action Figure,” priced at 1,450 RMB (approx. $200 USD / £155 GBP), which recreates Kaneki’s unforgettable transformation during episode 12 of the anime’s first season.

This version also stands approximately 27.5 cm tall and captures Kaneki with his iconic white hair, battle-damaged clothing, and intense expression following his confrontation with Yamori.

Its head sculpt accurately recreates the dramatic transformation, while interchangeable normal and Ghoul eye parts feature the same articulated eye mechanism for adjustable expressions.

Real fabric tailoring has been used to recreate Kaneki’s torn black shirt and white pants, while seamless jointed arms and legs highlight his muscular physique with additional details such as his blackened fingernails.

The “Awakening Ver.” includes an alternate smiling face sculpt, twelve interchangeable hands, alternate arm parts, alternate leg parts, handcuffs, shackles, Kaneki’s Ghoul mask, Kagune effect parts, Yamori’s torture chair, and a chain set.

Using the included accessories alongside the dedicated display base makes it possible to recreate Kaneki’s climactic battle against Yamori and the moment he fully embraces his Ghoul powers.

Both Rocket Toys Ken Kaneki figures are scheduled for release in Q2 2027, and pre-orders are now open through a variety of online retailers.
