The original VTuber KizunaAI holds comeback concert after 3 year hiatus

The world’s first virtual YouTuber, KizunaAI, recently held her major comeback concert, “KizunaAI Comeback Concert: Homecoming”.
KizunaAI, who pioneered the concept of the VTuber in 2016, had been on an indefinite hiatus for the past three years.

This two-day concert at the Zepp Shinjuku in Tokyo marked her full, official return to the live stage.

The first day of the concert, “Day 1 / hello, again,” began with her first comeback single, “Kamone,” and featured a setlist centered on her new album, Homecoming.

It also featured a guest corner with four of her VTuber friends: Kuzuha, Mito Tsukino, Fuyuki Hakase, and Natsume Eri.

The second day, “Day 2 / new world,” began with her second comeback single, “Mazaru.”

This performance featured a special guest appearance from the popular Hololive VTuber, Hoshimachi Suisei, who performed a duet with KizunaAI.

The two-day concert was a massive success, with a large and enthusiastic crowd in attendance.

During the concert, a series of four major announcements were made regarding the future of the KizunaAI project.
The four announcements are as follows:
- A Blu-ray of the two-day “Homecoming” concert will be produced, with an exclusive bonus photocard available for those who pre-order early.
- The official concert merchandise will have a post-event online sale, which will include new, additional items.
- A new music video for the song “Go Round feat. Daoko” will be released in October.
- A major, new, and as-yet-unannounced “update” is planned for the KizunaAI project in 2026.
This series of reveals has laid out an exciting roadmap for the future of the pioneering VTuber, who is set to celebrate her 10th anniversary in 2026.

The “Homecoming” concert was held on Saturday, the 20th of September, and Sunday, the 21st of September, 2025.
More details regarding the announcements, including the sale start date for the official merchandise, will be revealed via the official Kizuna AI comeback website in due course.
