The latest figure of ONE PIECE’s Blackbeard has a surprising hidden use

A new prize figure of the formidable antagonist Marshall D. Teach, also known as Blackbeard, from the popular series One Piece is set to be released.
The new figure is part of the “FigLife!” series, which is part of the “Banpresto” sub-brand from Bandai Spirits.

“FigLife!” is a unique line of prize figures developed under the concept of creating a “figure that brings new value into your life,” with products that combine a collectible figure with a practical, everyday function.
This ingenious new item is a figure of the Emperor of the Sea, Blackbeard, that also serves as a coin bank.

The approximately 15 centimeter tall (nearly 6 inches) figure is designed to replicate one of Blackbeard’s signature Devil Fruit abilities.
The sculpt depicts him using his “Black Hole” technique, where he creates a vortex of darkness that pulls in and crushes everything around it.

This thematic design is cleverly integrated with the product’s function, as coins are dropped into the vortex to be saved.
The figure offers fans a unique combination of practicality and entertainment value.

As a “prize,” this item will not be available for direct purchase at retail stores within Japan and will be exclusively available to be won in crane games and other arcade machines.
The “One Piece FigLife! Black Hole!!! Marshall D. Teach” is scheduled to be released in amusement facilities across Japan tomorrow, Tuesday, the 19th of August, 2025.

Many Banpresto figures now get international releases around 2 months after the initial Japan “prize” release, so fans based outside of Japan should check stock with local hobby goods retailers around October 2025.
