The Body Shop Launches Exclusive My Melody and Kuromi Body Care Collection

UK-born beauty brand The Body Shop has announced a new collaboration with Sanrio’s popular characters My Melody and Kuromi to release a line of adorable body care items.
The Body Shop is known for its focus on ethically sourced ingredients and eco-friendly practices, aiming to inspire positive changes for a sustainable environment.

This ethos blends naturally with the massive global appeal of My Melody, a gentle rabbit mascot, and her rival Kuromi, a mischievous but stylish character known for her signature black hood.

For this unique crossover, the duo will appear as “forest fairies” on limited-edition packaging for a range of body care essentials:
- The Body Shop Shower Gel (Strawberry / Pink Grapefruit / Moringa)
- Price: 1,980 yen (approx. $13 USD / £10 GBP), tax included.

This 250mL cleansing wash comes packaged in a custom bottle displaying the collaborative fairy artwork and is offered in three separate fruit and floral scent varieties.

- Price: 2,970 yen (approx. $19 USD / £15 GBP), tax included.

This fast-absorbing 200mL body moisturizer features the same character designs and is available in matching signature scents.

- Price: 2,255 yen (approx. $14 USD / £11 GBP), tax included.

This specialized travel set bundles a 60mL shower gel and a 50mL body butter inside a themed gift box.
These smaller sizes are exclusive to the gift set and cannot be purchased individually.
A series of gift-with-purchase campaigns will reward customers who hit specific spending thresholds or demonstrate eco-friendly choices.
Under the “sustainable action” tier, guests who purchase a reusable refill bottle and pump set for 715 yen will receive two free custom character stickers from a pool of six selectable designs.

Shoppers who bring their own eco-friendly shopping bag when purchasing any item from the collaboration at physical stores will receive an extra sticker.
Additional purchase milestones unlock tier-based collectors’ items, starting with the first promotional wave on June 4.
During this initial phase, anyone purchasing a collaborative item alongside a standard shopping bag will receive a sticker-style bag charm.

Transactions totaling 8,800 yen or more at retail counters, or 9,900 yen on the official web store, will include a limited-design mini bag.

The second wave of rewards begins on Thursday, July 16, introducing a custom recycled aluminum spoon and spatula set featuring My Melody and Kuromi branding.

This vanity utensil set will be added to orders exceeding 6,600 yen in person or 9,900 yen online, with all promotional gifts distributed strictly on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
The Body Shop has also planned several store activations and digital competitions to celebrate the collaboration.
The brand’s physical storefront in Shibuya, Tokyo, will undergo a complete transformation, displaying a dedicated My Melody and Kuromi window display for the entirety of the campaign.

A social media photography initiative will also take place across Instagram and X from June 4 through August 18, utilizing a custom augmented reality (AR) camera filter.

Participants who follow the official brand handles and upload their filtered images with the designated campaign hashtag will stand a chance to win one of ten Mini Body Care Gifts.
The “The Body Shop x My Melody and Kuromi” body care collection will be on sale in Japan throughout the summer, officially launching on Thursday, June 4, 2026, before sales end on Monday, August 31, 2026.
